It's a story based Star Wars XCOM. It doesn't go as deep or replayable as XCOM, but the story is solid and the gameplay is fun. XCOM does a lot of things better though, and there are a few bugs (nothing gamebreaking, but annoying). Graphics are good and performance is good. My one gripe is that it's short - clocking in at 35-40 hours, it's a shorter game. Don't look for much replayability here either. But if you like tactical turn based games or Star Wars, this is a solid game, backed by great characters, great voice acting, and a solid story. Not perfect, and XCOM is the superior game, but still lots of fun. If it were priced as a AAA $70 game, it wouldn't be worth it until a sale, but at $50? No regrets on my purchase and I enjoyed my playthrough on the game.
Great game but DO NOT play on 'Beskar' (ironman) mode. If the game crashes it wipes your save. Several topics about this in the discussion section, happened to me as well.

The game is great until you get to the typhoon fight, then its the most frustrating and most unbalanced thing that it makes you alt f4 and uninstall. other than that really fun.

For fans of XCOM, you pretty much know what you're getting. I think it's a little simplified compared to the more recent XCOM games, but it still has enough depth to remain interesting. For Star Wars fans, this game is really well-written, and the story is great. A new enemy we've never heard of is well-established as a secret cult, and the Republic's solution is to outsource dealing with it to a team of ex-coms. The story progresses very well, with each "act" clearly defined and woven into the greater Star Wars canon. I have to say, there are a number of twists that you kind of expect might happen, but you don't expect the game to actually go through with them. They were genuinely unexpected to me, and I loved it. The game has a number of powerful moments, the story is great, the gameplay is engaging (although it can get a little repetitive if you stick with a single team of heroes), and the visuals are fantastic. Overall, a 10/10 game, and I 100% recommend giving it a try! It's not even that expensive! :)
AWESOME GAME. I didnt think i would be into a turn based game. But the story is amazing. especially for star wars nerds. I wont get too involved in the story with this review due to spoilers. but overall. if your a star wars fan. this is a must. Gameplay is awesome to. As well as strategy and likeable characters

Soundeffekte & Musik sind ebenfalls filmreif und unterstützen prima die STAR WARS - Atmosphäre. Das Gameplay erinnert mehr an Gears Tactics als an XCOM, da es den Spieler mehr durch das solide "Storytelling" durch das Spiel führt, aber Ausbauten am Stützpunkt sind auch hier möglich. Abgesehen von ein paar kleineren Grafik- und Performancebugs ist es alles in allem sehr gelungen, meiner Meinung nach zum Vollpreis durchaus gerechtfertigt und ein MUSS für Star Wars - Fans! Gesamtwertung: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ von 5 Sternen
Amazing game. Best in 2026 for me so far. Got some jank to it. It would be a 10/10 if I believed there was more content and updates on the way, but the situation with the dev studio makes me doubt we see any more of this game. Too bad, could have been an all timer for me.
I just can't get enough of this game, I love the story and the gameplay is tremendous would for sure recommend to people who love strategy games.
