In Star Trek Online, the Star Trek universe appears for the first time on a truly massive scale. Players take the captain's chair as they command their own starship and crew. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.

Defend the Federation, rebuild the Romulan Republic, restore honor to the Klingon Empire, or serve the Dominion in battle! Each faction features vastly different ships, crew, gear, and play styles.
Create and customize a Captain from any species in the galaxy, or even make your own! Select from hundreds of ships and find the one that fits YOUR play style.

It's a fun game when it actually works, but updates often make it impossible to start through Steam. I enjoy playing, but it gets really frustrating when an update messes things up. Perhaps I'm being unrealistic to think a free-to-play game wouldn't have issues after updates.
I have played STO on and off since launch in 2010. The game has changed a lot since launch and I usually come back for a few months and then disappear for a year and return. I think that is the great thing about this game is that you can take your fill however you want. It is still very engaging, the mission quality is amazing with fantastic storylines. I love the episodic launches they do and replaying classing missions. Things like the romulan missions with Obisek, the Devidian missions on Dorzana, The Cardassian/DS9 missions bring me back a lot of nostalgia while newer missions like the Discovery timeline and Iconian War bring lots of fresh and new content. I don't mind the current Free-to-Pay (yes I said what i said) style, it's easy to just pay your way to success, BUT you can still grind your way through without the paid ships or items. I think my biggest gripe would be with the sheer quantity of bundles and weird discounts that come and go it gets super confusing. I also think there are TOO many like in game currencies between Credits, Zen, Dilithium, Fleet Marks, Latinum, and the reputation badges that you need to collect. I wish crafting was more straight forward like it used to be way back when they launched that feature and you had to go to some weird starbase in like the sierra sector. Anyways, Since rebuying the game on steam after loosing my original CD version I have put in 364 hours on just this steam account, and probably another 400+ hours before that. If you love Star Trek then this game is a no brainer to play and spend hundreds feeling only slightly guilty about it.

IF YOU LIKE STAR TREK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ONE
Aside from the micro-transactions, Star Trek: Online is a lot of fun. Bringing back original voice actors where possible makes it really feel like youre in the Trek Universe.

Very Fun Game. The only downside is that the tutorial takes far too long. But great online game!
