Squad 51 vs. the Flying Saucers

Very hard and very fun.

Squad 51 is one of the most visually unique shmups out there, it captures the black andwhite science fiction movies perfectly, even bringing live action footage with solid actions in between stages. Yet it fails in so many ways a shmup, the hurtbox is HUGE, and not only that, but it also adds sways everytime you move, so it’s even more imprecise when you need to go through the patterns. On that note, due to the lack of precise movement, the bullet patterns are more on the simple side, sometimes to a fault, making the game very dull to play for a long period. The upgrades system is also subpar, I barely felt inclined to experiment with different weapons, because of the lack of challenge This game is mainly for it’s visual appeal, but if you’re looking for a good shmup, you’re not finding one here sadly

O jogo é espetacular! A ambientação te coloca em um filme daqueles antigos, da década de 50 e a dublagem (na verdade nem é dublagem, as cutscenes são em português!) são feitas com excelência. A gameplay é impecável e não espere por um jogo fácil, você vai morrer um bocado até conseguir zerar. É uma pérola da indústria brasileira de jogos. Mais que recomendado!!

Nice. Out of the ordinary design and concepts, very creative settings. Difficulty is just about right. The only minor complaint I've got is the "trembling" effect on the menu which can get a bit annoying (it's perfect for that 50's vibe but there should be an option to disable it). Other than that, awesome and very fun game indeed!!
