About
You are a Japanese language teacher.
One day, concerned about a student who has stopped coming to school, you decide to visit her at home.
What awaits you there are girls crying out for help—and a reality that cannot be saved by good intentions alone.
Choose your words. Choose your distance. Choose their futures.
Will your kindness save these girls?
Or will it become another cage?
Three girls. Sixteen endings.
Spring at Dawn, I Am a Monster. is a multi-route psychological horror visual novel about a teacher and three girls who have stopped attending school.
There are no knives.
Only human nature.
Dependency. Obsession. Family problems. Loneliness.
Nanatsu Kokorome, Nyako Maigo, and Ajimi Konoha.
Each girl carries different circumstances—and secrets she cannot tell anyone.
What will you say to them? How far will you step into their lives?
Your choices as their teacher will change your relationship with each girl.
Each girl has five different endings.
After witnessing all 15 of their endings, one final story awaits:
The Teacher Route.
After trying so hard to save these girls,
who—or what—was the teacher all along?
The right words and the right distance do not always save someone.
Helping them. Watching over them. Walking away.
Being needed.
Even when you believe you’ve made the “right” choice,
something may slowly begin to break.
Rather than relying on sudden loud noises or jump scares, the horror slowly closes in through conversations, silence, expressions, and changing relationships.
“Spring, at dawn—”
A monochrome world accented with red.
Beautiful spring scenery.
And within it, a growing sense that something is terribly wrong.
Experience a beautiful yet unsettling story of spring.
Three original theme songs, each created to accompany the story of one of the girls.

I just finished the Nanatsu Kokorome route and started thinking about the ending which is unsettling in a good way by putting myself in the teacher's shoes. Heads-up : this is a massive spoiler-filled post ( I'll talk about the other endings later ). I’ve been thinking about all of this, and one thing I’m sure of is that Nanatsu Kokorome is human, not a monster. I start from the premise that we are human beings with emotions that can go to extreme lengths depending on what we’ve suffered. Yes, society tries to force us to conform to its standards, and the moment you deviate even a little or more than a little people call you a deviant, or even a monster.I couldn’t care less what society thinks. The fact that a child ended up killing both of her parents, emptying their bodies, limbs and intestines into garbage bags to dispose of them, and then living in that filthy apartment with the corpses still lying around… that only means she endured something so abominable that it drove her to this. If she had done it purely for pleasure, then yes, we could call her a monster or inhuman, because there would be no reason to go to such extremes just for fun. I put myself in the teacher’s place, and I agree that I would have done everything possible to save her and treat her as a human being. BUT was completely sacrificing himself the right solution? I think I would have tried to negotiate directly with the police, even if it meant putting my own responsibility on the line but not by fully sacrificing myself and saying everything was my fault.Nanatsu Kokorome loves her teacher now because he is the only person in the world who truly reached out to her even after she showed him her “filthy” true self (as she sees it). But the fact that the teacher ends up in prison and she is left living only on the hope that he might one day get out… I find that so tragic I don’t even have the words for it. We saved her, but her happiness is now the teacher. So did we really save her? No. We just gave her enough hope to restart her life… but twenty years later, anything can happen. In the end, this impossible connection between them makes me feel like nothing has truly changed, and that it wasn’t worth it. Even though I would have done everything to save her, I would have looked for a way to save her yes but ME TOO, because I am her happiness and her only hope. Even if she only confessed her love a few months later, I find it completely logical that she came to feel that way. In short, I would have tried to save myself as well, or negotiated by explaining that yes, the girl was involved, but it was a matter of life or death, and I would have told her whole story. I would have ruined myself on lawyers if I had to. I would have done everything to save both of us for me and for her. This ending leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Sorry for the wall of text, but this ending really bothers me. We did the hardest part we actually reached her and saved her and then he ruins everything by saying nothing to the police, taking all the blame, destroying his own life… and also destroying Nanatsu Kokorome’s true happiness, which isn’t necessarily freedom, but the teacher himself.
