Split/Second is an intense action racing game set within a reality TV show. Competitors vie to be the first to the finish line in a set rigged to blow. Players don’t just collide with other vehicles to knock them from the track, but can also trigger devastating events that alter the race dynamics.

Amo este juego. merece un update
This.... this game is brutal. Its magnificent, a bit frustrating and overwhelming but at the same time the pure joy and adrenaline injection I had this year. Its a simple arcade racing game, with little to no interface, and a brown (well known as "piss filter" of ps3 times, remind you the game is from 2010), but the twist is what makes is standing out of almost every other racing game out there. Instead of nitro, you get energy bars, that could be used as triggers for explosions on the map, as the whole road is packed with freaking tons of explosives, to create new obstacles for opponents, blow them up, or even change the route completely by detonating the biggest objects on the map. It is spectacular, unique and not very well known, that's why i strongly suggest to try it out. - the cars (and music) are not licensed. From one perspective it means the game will never be delisted in the way old NFS's did, but the original cars are not iconic (still resemble some details from real ones, I found out DB9, Bugatti Veyron, etc, but only in appearance) - the music (and especially main theme) is good, but the problem is that its not enough. Because when you listening to a nice track once in a while - is ok, but when you listen to it on all 12 races and cant win some of them for some time - and the track is not swapping - it could trigger some people - the constant comeback mechanics and rubberbanding. You mostly cant overtake all and expect to drive away from them, since the 1st place is most vulnerable, as you will face all the explosions and events with your face first, which leads to some strange logics and moves like slow down a bit just to destroy your opponents right after they overtake you - Vixen and Raptor. It will make sense, believe me - graphical artifacts (maybe my system is just too weak, idk) - !!!! ATTENTION the game has a game breaking bug, that KILLS your saves! to avoid your saves corruption - back up your autosave once in an episode/chapter AND - when you reach episode 5 (or unlock Ryback Thunder) - you must proceed till unlocking any other car and at least Episode 7. At some point you save could broke (you can check it in foulder, the regular size of 57 kb will change to 1 kb), but will fix itself after reaching ep 7 - difficulty curve (for me that hardest episodes where 5-7) - vague cars specs - its very hard to understand what 1/10 speed means, and it definitely now twice as slow as 2/10, same goes for every characteristics. Only trial and error will provide some information + absolutely spectacular and magnificent visuals and effects, my favorive map is a dam + SPLIT SCREEN for 2 people! very nice, I had a lot of good time with my brother playing it + different race types, some of them are unique to this game (like detonator, where control points/toolboth changes to an explosive solorace where everything that can be triggered - will, based on your proximity) + good length (6*12 races = 72 for campaign, and multiplayer (havent played it yet + split screen)

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

positive critical· bar length = how often the theme comes up
Another great Burnout game however it does have it’s downsides. In Burnout you smash into another car full speed to eliminate it but here you have 3 bars. Each bar is filled but doing something in the race like slipstreaming or drifting. You can use one bar to do something on the map like dropping a bomb from helicopter or exploding nearby truck and there is also a special version that uses 3 bars and changes the map in destructive way like collapsing bridges etc. It’s really cool also the game looks great to this day like early PS4 though it’s a late PS3. UI in the game is one of the best I ever seen it doesn’t take corners of your screen but it’s on your bumper immersing you in experience simply amazing. There are other modes than racing itself like dodging missiles or explosive barrels etc. not very good in my opinion but fine. Now the bad stuff there is no km/h or mph so you never know how fast you are going and it’s a major flaw. Cars have stats that are really not intuitive like Drift Power and etc. but with bars so what does it really mean. One more bad thing you see everything in game after episode 5+ than the game just repeats itself mostly. Split/Second is like 4-5h long and ending have a cliff hanger that it will have sequel though it’s been like 10+ years and the game got cancelled so yeah. It’s not worth full price but it’s also rarely on sale check on SteamDB. Steam version also have bugs like frequent crashing for me it was around after 3 races and then it crashes or audio issues and corrupt save files but if you will get through it it’s a really good game (also it’s 30fps locked). 7/10 would play again probably.

Great game. There are some problems though, rubber bending ai is the worst one and it is pretty hard. Game doesnt want you to take the lead no matter which car you are using Fps is capped to 30 Lack of controller support (my xbox controller didnt work. Had to use steam input and no soft functions such as gas brake turns etc. I played with controller but like keyboard (half of the game) It is an old game, idea is also good and unique. I recommend it if you wanna try a different type of racing !play with keyboard 6/10
Best arcade racer of all time imho
One of the best action racing games of all time. Unfortunately, this Steam version needs a patch to fix controller input and power level icon issues. My workaround to play this game included (1) unbinding keyboard1 buttons (2) binding controller buttons to either keyboard0 or joycon1.
THIS GAME IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PEAK. even if the AI Rubberbanding is insanely unfair, its still fun to play to this day. Overall a really good game.
Just as fun as I remember it
cheap version of burnout3
