Hey human, we've got problems! This town is crawling with troublesome spirits, and you're the only one who can see them. You'd better get that old bathhouse up and running, maybe that'll help them chill out!

Wait! Who the heck are you?! Can you see me? You CAN, can't you? You've drunk the Spirittea and now you can see me!! Look, we've got problems! This town is crawling with troublemaking spirits. They've become lost because humans have stopped worshipping, leaving offerings or even thinking about them anymore.

This is- well... used to be a nice town, but there have been some strange goings-on lately! You're going to find the spirits causing mayhem and fix their problems so they can become paying customers, and get to know the townspeople and explore the mountain to its fullest!
Solving the spirit's problems - To remember themselves, they'll need anything from some spicy noodles to finding and digging up their lost treasures, so get your problem-solving hat on!
Making friends with the locals - The townspeople all have their own schedules, likes, dislikes and hobbies to take part in - from bug catching to karaoke, there's something for everyone!
Managing the bathhouse - You'll need to clean towels, chop wood to heat the baths and seat the spirits with their friends for the ultimate bathing experience.
Upgrading and decorating - The local shops can make a whole lot of cool furniture and help you fix up your house. Make your new house your home!

The bathhouse is an ancient spirit building hidden up in the mountain, and it's up to you to clean it up and fill it full of customers! Once the spirits are in the bathhouse, you'll need to clean towels, chop wood to heat the baths and seat the spirits with their friends for the ultimate bathing experience. Each spirit has their own preferences so you'll need to get to know them all and upgrade the bathhouse to become the best bathhouse keeper around.
Keep the bathhouse and towels clean - Grab your trusty broom to sweep away the cobwebs and collect up all your towels, you'll need to keep everything clean, dry and organised.
Deliver a five-star service with food and scrubbing - Get ready to pamper your spirits with food straight from your kitchen and a give them a good scrub while they're relaxing!
Make the water perfect for each spirit - Chop wood for the boilers to heat up the water to the perfect temperature and mix up various elixirs to make the water perfect for each spirit - they'll all have their preferences and favourite recipes!
Sit friends together and enemies apart - Every spirit has others they like best, as well as some they don't enjoy spending time with at all! You'll have to plan carefully when you lead spirits to their baths - don't seat just anyone together! Unless, of course, you don't care about making money. Which I do. Very much so in-fact.

Very unique farm sim, feels like a lot of love went into this game. I enjoy all the odd mechanics and figuring things out, as well as all the minigames!
Beautiful pixel art, addictive gameplay, fantastic writing, and very cozy Ghibli aesthetics. Much love to this little gem!

Very relaxing cozy game, perfect to help you with anxiety
great vibe and art style, just feels like fun time
If you love Japan, yokai, and Stardew. I really think you will love this game too. It's is very relaxing. There are lots of mini-games. There are lots of characters to talk to and become friends with; I'm assuming there is a quest-line to woe some of them, but I haven't gotten that far yet. The mini-games are karaoke, cooking, fishing, and bug catching so far. The hunt for the spirits is very fun. There's plenty of tips to find them. The bath house makes decnet money. The only thing is I would get the guide. Guessing about the spirits and who to sit next to who is a bit of a pain. There are a few things I have had to look up besides that, but overall I am really enjoying this game.
I loved the demo of this game and finally was able to buy it. I'm finding mini games that you normally don't find in the genre. It doesn't hold your hand with anything other than how to run the bathhouse. It took a bit to find where to get a shovel and fishing rod. I think it's pretty well balanced so far. I make just enough money to buy an upgrade every few days or a new tool. I also really like the theme and the overall vibe. Super cozy. So far I've found a cooking mini game, plus you can cook at your house. There does seem to be bug catching and fishing. There is a karaoke game too. All that on top of running the bathhouse. There are also locked areas and areas of the map that are covered in clouds, so I think there's lots to do.
I actually love this game. At 38 hours of playtime I have now finished majority of the NPC quests, unlocked about 2/3 sections of the Onsen, & still have a large amount of the end-game spirit quests to complete. This game tickled every part of my brain & I really hope the developer expands the world of Spirittea in the future, or makes more games like this as I have been left wanting more! Some random things I enjoyed/found refreshing: - Completing quests for NPCs was actually fun! They each were unique & had me doing something different gameplay-wise every time. No repetitive endless fetch-quests to be found here unlike many other similar games in the genre. - I loved how there is a large amount of unique objects you can find (or steal!) in the world/town that you can just collect & place in your home or Bathhouse as furniture/decor (as long as they aren't required for a quest which some things you find will be). - Managing & upgrading the bathhouse is it's own self-contained Management Sim all on its own, & since I love those kinds of games I found the bathhouse gameplay here to be really enjoyable. - Exploring & experimenting with the overworld is rewarding, with lots of secrets/puzzles to find & figure out as you play. Exploring never really left me empty handed. - The whole aesthetic of the town is very unique & I liked how it all looked. Set in the modern day, in a rural Japanese small town is a cool setting & I'd love to see more of that in other life-sim games.
Can't run. My run button doesn't work. I can only walk at the slowest pace ever. It seems to work fine for a minute or two but once I walk north and south he can only walk at the slowest pace. Sometimes walking inside a house fixes it but only until I walk n/s again. There have been reports of other people having this problem. Walking to the bathhouse takes forever. https://www.reddit.com/r/Spirittea/comments/17ugh1v/slow/ Update: it works fine on GeForce but not my laptop. Yes, I have minimum specs. I will not change my review because even though I like this game and will spend more time in it, I shouldn't have to subscribe to geforce to play a game that should run natively. Especially one with such low spec requirements.
