this game absolutely sucks there is no such thing as skill in this game only luck
I'm going to keep it short. I've rarely seen so few games so spiteful against players and designed in a way that any tiny mistake feels extremely punishing against the player. I love roguelikes and challenging games (Dark Souls, 100% Hades including final boss third phase, Gunfire Reborn Reincarnation 9) but I simply can't get into a game with a RNG and level design that you can die at any given moment because you didn't notice a specific block or enemy. Bottom line is, you aren't in full control of your options or what's happening around and need to be on red alert at all times making split second decisions many, many times. The game can be partially fun with more people but it's even more chaotic and god forbid you if you don't play with VC because killing/stepping over each other or having to wait for resurrection is so much fun. I understand why people like it but personally I don't want my brain to be stressed by processing information constantly like this, I have a job, I play games for fun and chill and have enough on my plate to deal with a game like this. Spelunky 2 expects players to hit a wall 1000 times to learn unexplained mechanics that can one shot you. This is bad design. Edit: If you value good game design and/or sanity, do not support these devs.
This might be, the perfect video game. Ok, that does not exist, but it comes close.
Unforgiving, unfair, obtuse game that makes no sense but also the most sense at the same time. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around every corner. Your first 300 runs will be bad, but your second 300 will be even worse somehow. All around ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ devised within, what I can only assume is, the meth-riddled mind of sadistic Darwinian ape missing link who wants to push the limits of what the human psyche will put itself through in order to eventually cause a mass psychotic breakdown to phase-shift the fabric of the collective unconscious towards the grasp of the elder dark god Moloch. 9/10
