About
Species: Unknown is a first-person survival horror game, playable in co-op with up to 4 players (private or public servers) or solo. You play as a mercenary sent aboard an abandoned spaceship. Your job? Execute high-risk contracts, make it out alive, and claim your reward. But keep in mind that you’re not alone. Something is hunting you…
Form a squad of up to 4 players to take on different contracts with escalating difficulty. Each mission plays differently depending on your objective, your teammates, the map and which of the 5 intelligent threats is stalking you. No one survives alone, but you can try.

Proximity Chat & Radio are available: distance matters, walls matter. Proximity Chat is bringing more tension, sometimes chaos, and unforgettable moments to your co-op sessions.

Every contract drops you into a different nightmare. Whether you're tasked with extracting a black box, capturing or eliminating an unknown threat, or even destroying the ship to prevent the creature from escaping… Each mission demands a specific strategy and none of them are easy.
The specimen is chosen procedurally from a growing roster of terrifying monsters. Each one comes with distinct behaviors, hunting patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. You’ll need to investigate your surroundings to gather vital clues and identify the threat in order to proceed smoothly (or not). Do your job and get rewarded, or die without anyone knowing.

Strategize as a group, make smart use of your tools that can turn the tide, if only for a moment:
Motion Tracker : Detect nearby movement and prepare for what's coming
Shield : Block deadly attacks and buy time for your team
Health Syringe : Heal yourself or allies in the heat of battle
Mini-Map : Navigate pitch-black corridors with real-time positional data
Guns won’t always save you. Some threats are too resistant or simply untouchable. But the right weapon, found at the right time, can help you push through or even take the creature down.

The higher the risk, the higher the reward. Completing contracts earns you credits you can use to:
Upgrade your gear
Buy new tools
Customize your appearance
Gather lore and build your own creature museum

This game is so fun! I play it with two other people and it has been a blast. The graphics are great, the atmosphere is insane, and every mission you start off not knowing what you're going to run in to. I highly recommend playing this, especially if you want an eerie, fun, and blood pumping game. P.S. don't play this if you're in a thin walled apartment. Your neighbors will hate you lmao
Great game!! Visuals are great, tons of fun listening to the boys scream🤣

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Changes the rules the second the ' end event' starts, enemies ignore there rule set, hallways explode and block off, It turns into a utter ♥♥♥♥ show. I don't know who on your teams calling for hostile developer design but you need get them off the payroll. It's not fun.
This game is the lovechild of Monstrum and Alien Isolation. The atmosphere is oppressive and claustrophobic even with the lights on and the random nature of the monster gives the game great replay value. Well done.
a lot like UT except way better graphics. SO much fun!
tres bon jeu surtout en coop
Это прям хорошо
Molto divertente, consigliato
So one of my stories for this game has a slight spoiler on what you will fight so readers be advised: Saw YouTubers play this game and thought, "What the heck, my buddy and I love these types of games." Little did I know, we would stumble upon the scariest, random, and intense moments of gameplay we have had in a long time. AS of now, only 1 map. However, the "Species" you come across are random. One thing, I hate the floating robot. Not fun at all. However, the others? My God. You have a space ghost, a terminator, xenomorph mixed with Dead Space, another stalking type monster, and the last we played was a zombie virus. Each time we played, it was a different monster and we had to adapt appropiately to what was happening. The harder difficulty brings more negative drawbacks like paying for ammo and health, no explosive cannisters to use to get you out of a pinch, auto turrets that lock onto organics, etc. Only 3 mission types: kill the monster, extract data, and blow up the ship. From what we can tell, the extract data mission is the one that offers more variety on where you will go on the ship. Kill the monster mission: make sure you go after the weapons that are blinking because the mission is vague. The story is that after doing a few runs, I commented on how many dead crew mates are on the ship. I said, "I bet that zombies will be something we have to fight." 5 minutes later, the dead crew begin to come back from the dead and chase us down. This turned the mission upside down where we were fighting for our lives throughout the ship, which lead us to use the saferooms to take a moment to breathe and devise our next plan. The sad part, the Zombies are not the Species that you have to kill. That monster is in the vents like in Alien Isolation that will give you the zombie virus if it catches you (check for purple goo under vents). For an early access game? Extremely well polished, plenty of fun, progression for your character, and a ton of fun. I give this an 8-9 out of 10 for early access. There is a roadmap with new things coming so be prepared. Worth the asking price.
