Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best BR #81, worst UK #87 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.86/day in the week to Aug 14 → 8.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Ok, let me just say YES! Shadow Generations is a good game and YES Sonic Generations is still an amazing game. But that doesn't change the fact it is insulting that this is $50. Shadow Generations is a very solid time and it looks and runs amazing. The problem is Sonic Generations as all it is, is a port, I repeat, a PORT of Sonic Generations. When you choose Sonic Generations on the main title screen, it literally opens a 2nd application and It's still capped at 60fps (Shadow can go up to 120fps). This really pisses me off because if I wanted to play the original Generations I would just play that. To add insult to injury, SEGA delisted the original as a standalone title from storefronts (you can still purchase it in bundles). It really just rubs me the wrong way. Get this game when it goes on discount. I got it for $15,
So you have an ok game and the second coming in one single package.
- Sonic Generations -
This is just a port with some cutscene/writing changes. I guess it's alright, story is light hearted and just kind of there with not much dialogue. Classic Sonic is where the fun is at, his stages might seem a bit dull and "boring" compared to Modern but ATLEAST it plays well, drop dash is niche poo poo here nowhere near Mania's level tho. Modern's controls are total and complete unresponsive junk, no double jump = you get a weird mini forward dash that's pretty much useless since it doesn't keep your momentum, some tracks don't have the proper "lock-on" so you can't side step all that well and if you even think about boosting you're gonna be hugging the walls. No idea why they couldn't just update the game with the new controls. The final boss is terrible, sucks ass and is one of the most poorly designed and frustrating things ever I hate it.
- Shadow Generations -
THIS IS PEAK LADS, the jump from Modern to Shadow is a colossal difference, buttery smooth and responsive. The first act alone is better than the entirety of Sonic's part. Shadow is as cringey and edgy as ever. It has probably the best designed stages in the modern era and I replayed them multiple times to find the alternative pathways to run through before moving on, which I don't usually do. Love the new Doom powers, A REGULAR DOUBLE JUMP THANK YOU SEGA, bosses are well designed, story is straight forward but I wouldn't call that a bad thing. Music is excelent as always. At standard price it's questionable but on sale it's worth it just for Shadow alone imho. I liek Sonik :)
Its time to accept it, SEGA will never make an actual good Sonic game ever again like Generations or Unleashed. The recent sonic games have graphics that look too realistic, physics that feel weird/clunky and a sense of speed that's completely nonexistent. With that said, this is by far the best sonic game you can buy on steam nowadays. (Besides the original generations) This Sonic generations remaster is just like the old one but better. The modern sonic levels feel very fast paced, the music is great and the levels are just the right duration. None of this 30 seconds level with bs design that no one pays attention to like Sonic frontiers. (Besides planet wisp, it kind of sucked imo) The classic sonic levels are also good but can sometimes feel a little frustrating on the first couple attempts, although i found myself enjoying them after a couple replays. Now to the main event of this game, the new Shadow "DLC". As I've said before, the new sonic releases don't feel at all like the old ones, so don't go buying this thinking its a generations but with Shadow, its not. Its an obvious upgrade from Frontiers but still has a lot of room for improvement. Pros: - "Open world" lobby with lots of things to explore and discover - UI and music that just feel right. - Great mid-level cutscenes that blend flawlessly with the gameplay . - Multiple Shadow "forms" that allow for gameplay variety. - New chaos control mechanic. - Nostalgic boss-battles with bosses from old sonic games (Namely Sonic Adventure 2, for example) Cons: - Absolutely no sense of speed, boosting in this game feels like pressing a button that makes Shadow fart Cheeto's dust. - Weird physics that allow you just skip multiple platforms. (Why does a simple jump with no boost allow me to clear 4 big platforms?) - Final boss looks hella goofy when hitting him. - Some Doom morph sections are just confusing and annoying to navigate. -
No sonic boss battle, why just a cutscene. :*(
- Repetitive challenges that don't use the introduced side characters abilities. While Sonic generations has at least one challenge where it incorporates the designated level character for a custom challenge Shadow does not. For example, on Sonic generations green-hill zone there's a challenge where tails helps you cross the map while you hang on to him, successfully using the unique character abilities to create a challenging and creative mini-level. Why cant Shadow do this? The challenges are all the same. Finish with one coin, use chaos control to arrive in time, etc... Big the cat would be a great character to have a unique challenge built around. Instead he just sits there and does nothing at all. - And the worst of all of them, there's mentions of Sonic Forces. Not just references, two whole levels. That's just horrible TL;DR: Sonic good, Shadow bad (jk, solid 7/10)
8/10
[EN]
Two Games in One
Before I begin to talk about this game, I must say that I haven't played the original version of Sonic Generations yet, just this remaster. This game not only contains the remaster of that one, but also a new game, Shadow Generations! The keyboard controls are a bit weird at the start (for both Sonic and Shadow), but I changed them and quickly got used to them. The gameplay is very fast-paced, like every Sonic game, so it's also a matter of getting the hang of it. Sonic also has two types of gameplay - the modern (camera behind him) and the classic (platformer style, like the original games) - and both can be swapped between levels. I personally found the Shadow gameplay much better, more fluid and more satisfying, with those cool upgrades (the Doom Powers), but that's just my opinion. I mean, hell, at some point you can fly, surf, and morph into a black and red blob. Story-wise, I also found Shadow's side much more emotive (although edgy), while Sonic's side is more friendly and colorful, although both stories are connected to one common enemy. Some maps are really beautiful, but Kingdom Valley (from Shadow Generations) is definitely my favorite! All the maps have replay value - different ways, two acts on each map, and collectibles to unlock cool stuff like concept art, lore, and soundtracks. I just have to advise that some maps can be a little rage inducing. The soundtrack is peak, but I wish they also included "Without You" by Casey Lee Williams, the song they used in the mini-series "Dark Beginnings". [PT]
Played and bought originally on my Switch 2 due to a sale, I decided to double dip on PC due to the bundle making it only 17$ which is a steal. I already own the original Sonic Gens on PC but this port is just miles better and the Shadow Gens stuff is pretty fun as well. Imo this is one of the best Sonic games
