SONIC SUPERSTARS

I've played a bit of the game, and honestly, it's not as bad as I thought it was. It's not perfect, and it does pale in comparison to Sonic Mania, especially with the ♥♥♥♥-tier boss fights and broken multiplayer. But besides that, the levels are fun to play through. But I highly recommend you buy the game when it's on sale, as it's not worth $80 CAD. It's moreso worth $40 CAD at most. I also wish the modding scene for this game isn't so barren, considering that other Sonic games like Mania, Frontiers, Origins and Shadow Generations all have strong modding scenes.

Amazing game! it doesn't deserve all the hate it got If you like Classic Sonic games and also a bit of challenge, this is the perfect game for you! One thing I never liked about Classic Sonic is how lenient and easy most of the games are, but this one have real boss fights and nice gimmicks through the level. Btw, level design is brilliant, like a mix of Sonic Mania with a bit of Sonic Cd. It's perfectly balanced between platforming, speed sections and alternate routes - and is very fun to replay with the different characters. You can see the game was made with a lot of love and respect to the original games. However, the final product suffered a bit from rushed development (honestly, an issue cause by the CEOs, not the dev team). You can feel the rushed aspect on the music. Some tracks are clearly unfinished, because If you look in the internal files you can see that the music was made by "steps" - on the first step, you have a basic skeleton made of crude midi synthesizers - then some got a proper arrangement, with better instruments and production value. However, a lot songs didn't evolved from the first step - and they sound very dry. However, if you are on PC you can use a lot of music mods (or even make your own). So it's not a big deal imo. Superstars may not be perfect, but it's probably one of my favorite Sonic games of all time (yes, I like it even more than Mania)! (btw, I played before on Switch and now I'm replaying on PC)

I am about 3 achievements away from 100% the entire game. So here is my thoughts. The game is so pretty,I enjoy the music and every character is fun to play with. The levels arent too long and are also pretty fun. The bonus stages are unique and i like them. The character skins are also pretty cool and the overall difficulty is hard but not unforgiving. The Chaos emeralds are very easy to get and have unique powers !! Now,that was the pros. Here is the cons The achievements are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GRIND. Every single boss is way too long and tanky. The final boss(outta 3) SUCKS. The final boss almost made me give up on the entire game. I was stuck for MONTHS. I do not recommend the final boss nor the final story. Its beyond infuriating. Some levels are also very long and hard. Overall, it is a good game. A decent game. Id recommend buying it. On sale. It is not the best 2D Sonic game nor an expierence you NEED. But its a very fun,good Sonic game.
