Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

As a big fan of Sonic games, I can say that this one has no replayability. It's one of these game that you finish once and not come back to, unlike the masterpieces of 16-bit era. I prefer the look of Classic Sonic, though this one doesn't look bad. Stages seem more like iterations of the zones of Sonic 2 and 3, with different elements of course but they give the feeling they're aiming for nostalgia and not creating something entirely new. They can be fun but also weird and frustrating, slowing down the pace at times. I preferred the old boss fights, in which you can attack them as many times as you can if you're fast enough. In this one, they're invincible after being hit for some time, prolonging the fights for no apparent reason and adding an artificial difficulty that can break the game, especially in the last bosses. After beating the story with Sonic you unlock Trip's story. In this part they failed badly. They could have added other stages; instead you're forced to redo the same 12 zones again. General consensus is that difficulty is higher here. Another issue is that sοme things are not clear from the beginning. I was doing Zone 4 with Trip and realised I was missing a power from the 6th emerald. That is clearly awful design, in no other Sonic game had you had to get an emerald to continue with the story. This made me go back to Sonic's story and try to get it. I stopped having fun the moment I faced the last boss with Sonic. Trip's story makes me wanna quit but I'm still trying to finish it, mostly because it's a Sonic game. Had it not been this case, it would have been uninstalled already. I selected that I don't recommend the game, but it's worth a try. The price of 40 euros is not justified at all and if I'm being honest not even the discounted price of 20 euros is good for this game. Thankfully I grabbed it for 8 euros from another seller. PS: Don't get me started on the 5th emerald. 27/5/2026 Edit: I managed to finish the game. Trip's final boss is badly designed, animations last long and are repetitive, you need to inflict 15 hits. For sure one of the worst fights of all Sonic games in history. True final boss with Super Sonic is less awful but still unimpressive. As a positive, I would say the music of some stages but nothing special. The game itself is not memorable at all. Normally, when you would finish a game it would be "YEAH!!!" but now the sentiment is "finally..."
I was so worried when i saw the mixed reviews that this game wasn't fun. well after playing for a solid 2 hrs already doing several sections getting multiple chaos emeralds. yeah no this game is really solid id even hazard a good. I read so many of the negative reviews but i just don't get it. I played every sonic released by sega growing up. i kept up playing even into the modern era. this game really doesn't deserve this flack at all its kinda crazy honestly. The boss fights are fine i think they're kinda fun. if anything maybe turn up the juice and make them harder. but this sonic games feels kinda like some where between sonic 1 and 2 design philosophy's most of the time. it has fast spots like 2 and has multiple paths. it also has if you don't make better split second decisions you end up on the "worst paths" just like in 2. so you're punished for playing bad. it also has slower moments like the first one though id say sonic 1 has better moments for sure. over all this game easily gets a 7.5 its honestly almost worthy of a 8 imo. well worth the sale price. If you see my review and are also worried that this game isn't a fun time. please give it a try. i am still floored this game has a mixed.
What a piece of junk. The levels are poorly designed with no reason for exploration, with physics that are badly ported from the superior engine Christian Whitehead put together for his Genesis ports and Sonic Mania. You will be frustrated for the overwhelming majority of this game's length, culminating in the most tedious boss fights ever crafted for a Sonic game. They make the boss battles in Sonic '06 look like enthralling cakewalks by comparison.

awful
This is not a very good game. I loved Sonic Mania and was excited when this was announced because it looked like Sonic Mania with a modern visual spin. I primarily play on the Steam Deck and the game runs fine enough but feels more like a fan game than an official release: which makes sense because it was co-developed by the Balan Wonderworld developers, you can really feel it. Every level is disjointed and feels like your little brother/sister got ahold of a level editor and just put random objects all over the place. A lot of people have been complaining about the boss fights. While I don't think they are great, I don't think they are terrible either, my only complaint is that it's basically just a guessing game as to what to do, so you are likely to die many times before finishing them. It is really unacceptable that Sega is charging $60 when games like Super Mario Brothers Wonder is the same price, has deliberate level design and is polished as hell. The only people that should get this game are die hard sonic fans who are itching for another entry in the series or this game is on sale for like $15.
Maradj távol ettől a játéktól! Sand Sanctuary Zone zenéje azóta is a fejemben van. Banger.
