Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 14 → 6.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Comfortably Numb

There's a good chance you may have stumble upon with one, two or more Sonic collections over the span of your life, they're basically everywhere. You can't unsee them — they've changed size, mutated into other formats, snuck their way onto weird systems, there just wasn't a "proper" way to play these classics. The Genesis ROMs were the de facto way to experience these games on most systems and even though there were re-releases made around the early to mid 2010's, they were rather perceived as, little oddities. But, Sega had plans to make the blue hedgehog relevant once again in response to the success of the first movie and finally be able to reach new audiences with their games. And thus Sonic Origins was announced in 2022, in the franchise 31st anniversary. This is quite a bittersweet beginning to a what is in my opinion a game that all around was quite, well, bittersweet. Yes, a collection made from cold market data sheets won't automatically translate itself into a good game — just one that's guaranteed to sell. Sonic Origins launched in a state that is somewhat hard to describe. The games themselves worked mostly as intended, but everything surrounding them felt, off. For starters, why were most the DLCs in Origins just features that could've been in the base game? These individual DLCs are now included with the Plus Expansion, which is a good change. But then again, features such as being able to zoom the camera to at the very least see the characters in more detail were aspects you had to individually pay for. PC players had to deal with the fact Sega added Denuvo DRM into what are essentially 30 year old games, tanking the performance on ancient hardware while unnecessarily taxing capable hardware more than what was really needed. And among other issues Origins introduced, that again, have nothing to do with the quality of the games inside this collection. Here’s something that I've noticed, Origins doesn’t feel like much of a celebration as Sonic Jam, Mega Collection, Gems Collection or even Sonic Generation did. Instead, this feels like another repackage, this time built on a modern, engine — the same one used in various past re-releases. BUT at the same time, I still consider this the definitive (and official) way to play these classics without going out of your way to download emulators or mess around with fan decompilations — even though its not like we have a lot of option to choose from nowdays. The newly added intro cutscenes for each game are very welcome additions as back in the day these stories were for the most part hidden in the instruction manual. With this new change, Sonic CD now has two cutscenes, one from Amy’s perspective and the classic 1993 intro from Sonic’s perspective. Then there is Sonic 3 & Knuckles which was finally set free after decades of legal uncertainty...you know the legend, right? Micheal Jackson and parts of his team did help to compose some songs in Sonic 3, or rather change them to one of their own very late into development. His involvement while limited, shaped one of gaming most infamous urban legends. The 1997 PC release of Sonic 3 & Knuckles erased all traces of Jackson’s material, replacing several songs with earlier compositions, but that only added fuel to the fire as later releases would make use of Jackson’s tracks again. As such, Origins uses these earlier composition, and believe me this is not all. There’s another myth or misconception thrown around social media that claims Jun Senue made adjustments to some song in Sonic 3, namely the ones Micheal Jackson helped to compose, but this isn’t exactly the case. If you listen closely to Super Sonic’s theme you’ll be able to hear some resembleances to the Sonic 4 Episode 2 soundfont, in which Jun is credited as the main composer. But Origins actually uses much, much earlier compositions which have nothing to do with the leaked 1993 prototype nor the 1997 PC release...uh sorry, I went off on a tangent there. Back to the main subject. My experience with Origins was fairly standard all things considered. I didn’t find any game breaking bugs, glitches or unpleseant surprises. I’ve already beaten these four games more times than I would like to admit, so I know it would be hard for me to not notice any changes made in Origins as it is. Maybe the character selection menu could’ve used some work? Time travel in Sonic CD is incredibly easy, Classic Mode doesn’t use the Genesis ROMs, mission mode is fun but doesn’t last that long and the gallery is a straightforward as you’d expect. Honestly, there’s not much to complain about without sounding picky. Origins is....fine, however the asking price isn’t much I’d say. Everyone’s going to have their own perspective on how much companies should charge for a single game, but Sega already had set the bar with previous releases — dirt cheap! Not in a dissmisive way of course, but rather in terms of accesibility these games were, well, cheap enough for people to not worry about its price. During Origins launch a lot of people were split whether the asking price was justified or not: 10$ per game with no DLCs attached. That’s up to you to decide, but I spent 40$ without much hesitation when I had the chance and here is the result of this purchase: This very review! 40$ that by extension also included Origins Plus. Plus arrived a year later after Origin's launch, similarly how Sega handled Mania and Mania Plus launch. This expanded version was focused around adding extra content and bundling all prior DLC into one simple package. But what does Plus include exactly? To keep it short it's Amy as a playable character on all games, Knuckles in Sonic CD and a handful compilation of Game Gear games. Amy’s inclusion in Plus was a welcome addition as she has never been playable in any of those games before, not even CD which was her debut title. And...that’s all there is to it. A few requested fixes, a new playable character and extras catered towards hardcore fans. Origins just doesn’t do enough, but it’s still a good compilation. There are better options out there, ones that are not trying to sell you on anything but that are focused on making the original experience as enjoyable, replayable and customizable as possible. Maybe this wasn’t the focus of this collection, mods would eventually carve their way in and add more needed substance into this release, I don’t know. I would definitely recommend Origins for people that are new to the series, but there’s nothing exciting to see for people that have been rolling around slopes for three decades already. Origins is.....convenient.......pleasant, makes you numb to every problem surrounding it. These four games are special, they are like comfortable blankets that I can never let go off no matter how mistreated or barebones a release gets. Feels good.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Sonic Origins Collection Ratting: 6.8/10 This is Definitely NOT a bad collection. In the current day, this is probably the best way you can play these 4 games, in HD resolution and with the general history on the Hedgehog in the Gallery. I’ve never rage once, and I didn’t accouter any bugs aside form those that were built into the games. Very good- if not GREAT experiences… [: My main issue… is what is not here though… The worst this for a classic collection to do, is to not include the ORIGINAL versions of the games. This is an collection of the Remakes for each game. 2 of them strait up being the Mobile ports and CD remake SLAPPED together into this collection into one. The Sonic 3 remake being exclusive to this collection, mind you. “Ok, well if I already had the Original Remakes, why should I buy this?” True… though your lucky if you’ve even had those since any of the Sonic games from 1 to 3 are now taken DOWN from all platforms, forcing this as the ONLY way to buy this game now… Legally at least. And while YES, the salvage to Sonic History is nice, there is a lot missing here… Even stuff that was in Sonic Jam. (Kinda wish this was just an Updated modern version to that Collection ngl…) And while YES the music from the other sonic games around that time is nice, just kind of remind you that there really are no other way to play Knuckle’s Chaotic less you pirate it… (Oh- I’m sorry, did I say that? I meant sell your liver to not just BUY the game, but also both livers to also buy the original console, along with the add on for the console… We really do live in the bad future huh?...) Honestly- The only reason this is getting as good of a review as I’m giving, is because the games themselves are well… The games in the collection are just… GOOD… Sure they aren’t the originals, but they are remakes to these classics that improve most of the flats to the originals. If not just make them better games in the case of CD. So I’d like to make the rest of this review to my thoughts on these games. [: ------------------------------------------------------------------ The Game’s Ranking: Sonic 1 - 9/10 VERY GOOD, honestly my second favorite classic game. I do like how very difficult the original was. But I do appreciate the included Spin/Drop Dash, along with the infinite lives that go along with every game in this collection. Makes this game slightly less stressful. Also, don’t hate the special stages in this one, they are pretty fine. Sonic 2 – 8/10 Probably the worst Classic game, which should tell you a lot since I still LOVE this game. This collection probably being the best version of this game since Tails can actually FLY, making some parts with sonic reachable in this version. Yet again, my biggest issue with this game are the last few levels… Metropolis Zone is probably the worst Zone, Sky Chase is a snooze, Wing Fortress is good but with what you’ve went though is an actual Horror Game, and Death Egg has the 2 best bosses but get ruined by the fact that the devs forgot to place down the DAMN RINGS. And also this game has the Hardest Special Stages “The Haft Pipes” which I honestly don’t have any issues with aside from baby sitting Tails… Though I will say with the Coins it dose make these stages a lot more easier with the fact I could just retry them since I had like… 200 coins by that point… Sonic 3, and Knuckles – 9.5/10 Truth be told: this was my first time playing Sonic 3. Have always intended to play that game eventually, and since I had this collection well… Yeah- Not a bad game at all. (: There were like… 3 stages I didn’t like, but even then those stages weren’t awful. I guess my only issue (which is a big one) was the fact that they removed all the music that Michael Jackson helped make. Yeah, I get why, but the removal of Ice Cap’s theme for a Worster song is giving me a “Hard Time” if ya know what I mean?... Blue Spheres are AWESOME though, can’t complain about da. [: Sonic 3, (Knuckle’s Campaign) – Knuckles/10 Yeah, not much to say. Same feelings when I played base Sonic 3: “It’s just good.” The only other thing to note are the Knuckles Excusive paths. Since even though I knew Knuckle’s levels were different from bas game, they were still shocking somehow. I constantly said “WOW… this wasn’t here before… very neat. (:” same kind of feeling I get from B3313. Also, Mecha Sonic (MK. II) is a CRIMINALLY underrated Sonic Boss, really do love how he is Knuckle’s Final Boss. Awesome stuff. Sonic CD – 11/10 (BEST GAME) Truth be told, I tried to Gray Market this game. But the website couldn’t let me buy it so… yeah, I gave up and bought this so… here we are… (Trust Me, I’ll try to Gray Market this game again, I lost it from my old account AND I WANT IT BACK!!!) This game is my FAVORITE out of all the Classics. NO CONTEST. - The Music: PEAK - The Intro/Outro Animatics: PEAK - The Level Design: The most complex the Classic Games have gotten. All tied up together by the Time Travel Mechanic. Even then, if you are just speeding by, they all still feel like rides to an amusement park, reminding that you are infact a Small Rat of an Speed Demon. :3 - The Special Stages: PEAK - Amy Rose: PEAK (I love her… ;-;) - Metal Sonic: IS SO PEAK, THAT HE IS MY FAVORITE SONIC CHARICTER!!! I would love to give a more independent review on this game alone, probably once I Gray Market the original port. But let me just tell you. This along side SA1 is the very REASON I am a Sonic Fan. And this game holds a special place in my heart. DO NOT TELL ME THIS GAMES SHORT COMINGS, THIS GAME IS SO GOOD THAT THE PROS OUTWAY THE CONS. This game is so peak… ;-;
it's just the original Sonic trilogy plus Sonic CD in a compilation with some upgrades doesn't mean it's bad tho could get some fun out of this
buy on sale for 10 to 15. 40 for plus is stupid
