Reviews
This is a very fun game once you get a hang of the controls. The difficulty is broken on some tracks though with a lot of rubber-banding. I wouldn't recommend to anyone with a short temper. Overall this was a really cool game for its time and still holds up (for the most part) in 2025.
The better game! It's better than the 1st installment and better than team sonic racing. But the world tour is INSANELY difficult it stops being fun.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Best Sonic Racing game, I'm playing this until Crossworlds comes out.
not much to say besides this ish fire
I really hate how they nerfed the regular players and boosted the computer drivers. It make it impossible to win. In battle races you can hit a comp driver and it doesn't even phase them.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection, developed by Sumo Digital and published by SEGA, is a standout entry in the kart racing genre, offering a dynamic and exhilarating experience that appeals to both fans of the Sonic franchise and newcomers alike. Released on January 31, 2013, this title builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, introducing innovative mechanics, a diverse roster of characters, and meticulously designed tracks that keep players engaged for hours. One of the game's most notable features is its transforming vehicles. Unlike traditional kart racers, vehicles in Transformed seamlessly shift between cars, boats, and planes mid-race, adapting to the terrain and adding a layer of strategic depth to each course. This transformation mechanic not only enhances the gameplay but also ensures that no two laps are identical, keeping the racing experience fresh and exciting. The character roster is a love letter to SEGA's rich history, featuring over 20 iconic characters from various franchises. Players can take control of familiar faces like Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, as well as lesser-known characters such as Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue. Each character comes with their own unique vehicle, adding to the game's replayability and offering players a chance to experiment with different playstyles. The track design in Transformed is exceptional, with 25 diverse courses that span across land, water, and air. These tracks are not only visually stunning but also feature dynamic elements that change with each lap, such as shifting pathways and environmental hazards. This ever-evolving track design ensures that players must remain adaptable and strategic, as the racing conditions can change unexpectedly. In terms of gameplay modes, Transformed offers a variety of options to cater to different playstyles. The World Tour mode provides a comprehensive single-player experience, guiding players through a series of challenges and unlocking new content as they progress. The Grand Prix mode offers traditional racing tournaments, while the Battle Arenas allow for competitive multiplayer matches. Additionally, the game supports up to four players in split-screen mode and up to 10 players in online races, ensuring that there's always a way to compete with friends or players around the world. The game's visuals are vibrant and detailed, capturing the essence of each track and character. The art direction is consistent and polished, with each environment reflecting the unique themes of the respective SEGA franchises. The animations are smooth, and the effects during vehicle transformations and power-up usage are visually impressive, adding to the overall spectacle of the races. The soundtrack is another highlight, featuring a mix of original compositions and remixes of classic SEGA tunes. The music complements the fast-paced action, with energetic tracks that enhance the adrenaline rush of each race. The sound effects are crisp, and the voice acting adds personality to the characters, further immersing players in the game's world. While Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection is a well-rounded and enjoyable game, it is not without its minor drawbacks. Some players have reported issues with the game's online multiplayer, including matchmaking difficulties and occasional lag. Additionally, the AI can sometimes exhibit rubberbanding behavior, where trailing opponents can catch up quickly, potentially leading to frustrating moments. However, these issues are relatively minor and do not significantly detract from the overall experience. In conclusion, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection is a masterfully crafted kart racer that offers a unique and thrilling experience. Its innovative vehicle transformations, diverse character roster, dynamic track design, and engaging gameplay modes make it a standout title in the genre. Whether you're a longtime SEGA fan or a newcomer to the franchise, this game provides hours of entertainment and is a must-play for racing enthusiasts. Rating: 9/10
This is a pretty good entry for the kart racing genre. Unfortunately, the online play is dead. I've gotten on several times and not found a single game to join. The maps are fun and creative but a little chaotic at times.
