Unique, breathtaking, deep (literally). Play it!
Absolutely amazing game. Story and what questions it makes you ask yourself alone makes it worth to play. I guess gameplay could be a bit better, but it's made up with atmosphere and environment which are great.

Every market we collect.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Overglazed
It has some good themes and moody environments, but it's nothing new. The map feels like a more modern, less charming take on Rapture from BioShock, but without capitalists. SOMA explores themes of humanity, the worth of life and self/ego, without really asking new questions or delving deeper than previously existing media. It's still interesting for what it is, but its narrative is being held back by gameplay that mostly provides friction without adding to the experience. The characters and some narrative points feel a bit "cardboardy" and not very believable. I'm not gonna spoil anything so I'll keep it vague to the point that you will only understand this next sentence after playing.
The alternate train of thought regarding copies that some "educated" people have seems highly unlikely and plain stupid for someone of their background, to the point of making it a hard sell.
★★★⯪☆ - Soma : a well-crafted game Soma is a good horror game with a unique atmosphere. The underwater environments are detailed and well-crafted. The mechanics, even if they feel clunky at times (especially when dealing with levers and the like), actually heighten the tension during stressful moments. However, the pacing is a bit too repetitive: go to a station, flee a monster, head outside to reach another station, and so on. Furthermore, I didn't find the story all that exceptional; it’s actually rather formulaic. I’ve seen plenty of comments claiming the ending was a huge shock.
Yet, we’re given a specific objective right from the start, so it’s easy to guess how things will wrap up.
As for having one's understanding of existence shaken up... I just don't see it. Verdict : SOMA is a well-made horror game. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's exceptional. Perhaps I wasn't the target audience. That's okay.
Less gameplay than TdD but with a better atory and (in my opinion) scarier
Very good!
Fantastic horror game with good characters, lore, storytelling, and level design. Emotional set pieces hit hard and the moral choices you're forced to make can be genuinely upsetting at points. There are a few puzzles that are a bit obtuse but for the most part the puzzles follow a good consistent logic. Rarely did I need a guide to figure out where to go or what the puzzle was asking of me which in this kind of game is not a given. Pacing is very good and no single part of the game seems to drag on. Underwater sections are surprisingly heavy especially at 4k netting me sub 30 fps but the game looks fine at 1440p and never dropped below 60 fps. The game overall has aged pretty well still looking great by indie game standards to this day if not slightly dated. Possibly one of the best of the immersive horror game sub-genre if not one of the all time great horror games.
