Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 7 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Ultimate How-to-Socialize video game for the Socially Curious!
Social Caterpillar follows an introvert navigating the exhausting task of socializing. Interactions are puzzles that need solved. The more you solve, the more energy you gain to explore... but only if you can ignore the wet whispers of the mysterious Yellow Voice...

Solve a myriad of puzzles, each with its own internal logic.
Exploration and experimentation reveals layers of secrets.
A story told through set pieces and implications.
Adjust CRT to preference, from NONE to EYES BLEED.
Maybe there's a hidden ARG in there. Maybe.
Sew. Shell. Eyes.
Your Social Battery determines how far you can wander from the safety of your home. Interacting with people will drain your energy, but, like with any exercise, that energy will return greater than before. Grow and strengthen your little introverted larva until it becomes a big, strong caterpillar. But be careful: the comfort of the cocoon can be hard to escape.

A pretty interesting game involving interacting with people and solving puzzles to go from being an introvert to an extrovert. The main gameplay is all about IQ-test-style-figure-out-the-pattern puzzles, so if you're into that like I am you'll have a good time. It's all wrapped up in a very relatable narrative. The post-game content is woven everywhere into the world and has given me plenty of aha moments while connecting the dots. In trying to figure out as much as I can I have run into two pet peeves of mine:
audio puzzles and rubbing your face against every wall/trying to interact with everything,
but that's on me for attempting the post-game in the first place.
Can pet the cat :)) A very thoughtful and engaging experience. The customizability is really fun and the possibilities for difference in the puzzles makes for solid replayability. I felt the puzzles had a good range of difficulty in them as well. Overall very enjoyable and I’m really glad I got to play it!

Take a deep breath, and sit down. On whatever you're playing on and understand that this game will not tell you anything. It is up to you to figure out how it means to navigate this world. It will not hold your hand, but It will show you everything, and all the clues are there for you. All you have to do is find them. You are an introvert, but maybe, that's not all you are.
Quite the hidden gem of a game! A great puzzle game with a great message that did truly resonate with me Puzzles in the base game are fun and simple while still offering a challenge as you progress Hidden puzzles in the form of "Little Expressionless Animals" (LEAs) are a wonderful addition to seasoned puzzle solvers And the "ARG" is a great extra secret that helps cap your save file to 105% Overall, a wonderful experience, and one that kept me thinkin' about it for a good while after I've finished it!
A very interesting concept and a lovely experience. The puzzle component is extremely satisfying. I’d compare the structure of the secrets to Animal Well because of its layered style, making the game appealing to all kinds of players, from hardcore to casual puzzle solvers. I also loved the Dev-Game Mode, I honestly got a bit emotional. As an aspiring game developer myself, I could really feel the effort and attention behind the design choices and the little easter eggs in the game. I’m really glad I bought it and I’ll definitely keep an eye on their other games! P.S. Great OSTs too!
Another great game from Merlandese
Social Caterpillar is a fascinating game. The player plays as an introvert, in a story largely working with implication rather than direct explanation (done quite effectively). Solve puzzles, increase your social battery, and become able to progress farther from your home (and isn't that how being an introvert can feel). The main path of the game is pretty easy, starting with simple puzzles, and eventually making it to moderately complicated ones. The vast majority of the puzzles are made up of giving you three choices that you have to pick from based on what you're shown (in ways that tend to match well with the theming of what the protagonist is trying to do at the time). The two endings (there's a third, but I haven't gotten it) also feel appropriate, and the game has some dev commentary that can be unlocked that I really enjoyed reading. It's also worth noting that the game is full of layers (plenty of which I've still hardly gone anywhere on, although I expect I'll be poking around at least a little more), with puzzles inside of puzzles inside of puzzles (some real hidden room that requires logic from three hidden puzzles and a hidden room level stuff). Excellent game all around.
This is a fun thinky kinda game! Made my head hurt, but in a good way :3c
A really lovely weird little gem of a puzzle game with a narrative told through light touches that still hits pretty hard, for me at least. More like this please!
Neat little puzzle game, full of hidden things.
