And the winner for the most abrupt ending of all time goes to... Puppet Master 6 (1998). But Slime Rancher is certainly up there in the pantheon of causing whiplash with a sudden credits sequence. For my entire playthrough I wasn't even sure what the end objective was, so when the credits started rolling I had to look up what triggered it because I wasn't doing anything notable at the time. I'm left feeling unsatisfied because the somewhat-noteworthy event that triggers it happened hours ago, but the game had to pass a certain amount of in-game days before getting the letter that rolls the credits sequence. This is very much a "me" issue, as I like when games have a definitive end-point or a final goal to work towards; Slime Rancher and many other open exploration games don't stop when the credits drops like in a linear narrative-drive game, but they usually have a primary objective to drive the player forward. Since I'm more interested in experiencing thousands of different games rather than devoting thousands of hours to a handful of titles, I like when a game tells me definitely that I can stop (though if it's reasonably achievable or if I just I like the game enough I may go for 100% completion. While I like Slime Rancher - and none of the remaining achievements look particularly difficult to acquire - there are SO many achievements that I don't anticipate going for the rest).
Jelly-like capitalism. This game will have you wearing denim overalls and a straw hat whilst chewing on a wheat stalk, thinking you're a full-time livestock farmer after around ten hours of playtime. The game throws you into the deep end of manual labour, as you have to complete repetitive tasks over and over again to make a profit. But this isn't a bad thing; it's actually what makes the game work so well. The cycle of gathering food for your slimes, feeding them for the production of plorts, selling said plorts, and then reinvesting the money gained into increasing the efficiency of this tedious yet satisfying cycle is what makes the game enjoyable. It's not one of those farming games that requires a lot of mental effort. It's one of those games where you can sit down with some food and a drink and relax while wrangling gelatinous organisms. For those who aim to reach maximum production of a specific type of plort to make easy money, think again. Firstly, give the damn slimes a break, but secondly, overselling a particular plort can cause the plort market to crash! Basic plortenomics 101, class is in session. You need to husband multiple different species of slimes so you have access to an array of plorts to sell. By doing this, you will avoid creating a surplus of one specific type of plort, causing its value to plummet. Congratulations! You just passed the introductory lesson to slime ranching university. In all seriousness, this game is really fun and can grow surprisingly addictive. The achievements are pretty straightforward to get, and you will most likely gather the majority of them from completing the game. Maxing out the Slimepedia took a bit of dedication, and the Plort Rush mode can pose quite a challenge. But overall, I enjoyed every minute of it. This wasn't the first time I've played this game, and it probably won't be the last. All hail the pink slime. 8.2/10
This is the most simple game with okay graphics bcs its from 2017 but its sooooo chill and well made. Highly recommend.
It's a very easy game to learn and pick up, plus every run might not be the same! Anyway, I'm not very good at leaving reviews, but this game is truly fun! I'm still addicted to this game even after I think 3 years, which really says a lot since I move on from things within the span of merely a week sometimes. Anyway! This game was truly worth my money!
Bu oyunun tadı bir başka.
打折入的,小时候看屌德斯玩,为童年补票,实际上手之后也确实挺有趣的,不愧当时能吸引小时候的我
Pure joy and happiness, there are no words to describe my feelings about this game. I love the lore, the gameplay, the characters, the mechanics, the huge amount of posibilities.. I've past wonderful days in the Far, Far Range.. Since the gameplays I used to watch, the first times playing it, and finally, the addition to my library to honor my history with the game. On my way to 100% it again, now here in Steam, and I still owe a lot to those slimes..

“Slime Rancher” isn't just another farming game to me. In a weirdly wholesome way, it ended up fulfilling a little dream I had as a kid. When I was younger, I used to spend hours watching streamers play this game. Chickens were mostly just food for the meat-eating slimes, so most streamers barely paid any attention to them. But I always loved the chickens. There was something about their dumb little faces and the way they ran around that I found ridiculously cute. Whenever I watched those playthroughs, I wished the streamers would spend a little more time showing the chickens. I kept thinking about how cool it would be to have my own coop someday and raise a whole bunch of them. Back then, I could only watch other people play because I didn't own the game. That little wish ended up sitting in the back of my mind for years. Now I finally get to play it myself. I grabbed my Vacpack, stepped onto this colorful alien world, and built the chicken coop I'd imagined so many times as a kid. And now I can just stand there and watch my dumb little chickens run around for as long as I want. Sure, they're eventually going to end up as food for slimes, but seeing them wander around the ranch, pecking at things and making all their little noises, still makes me weirdly happy. Something I used to daydream about as a kid is finally something I can actually do. Even putting my chicken obsession aside, Slime Rancher is an incredibly relaxing game. Feeding slimes, collecting plorts, expanding your ranch, and exploring new areas all have this laid-back rhythm that makes it really easy to forget about the stress of everyday life. The bright visuals, gentle music, and constantly bouncing slimes all add to that feeling. It's just a really nice game to unwind with. I also really like the way the economy works. You can't just dump huge amounts of the same type of plort onto the market without affecting its value, which gives you a reason to diversify instead of farming one thing forever. Exploring the world, finding rarer slimes, and filling out the Slimepedia also gives you a satisfying sense of progress. I'll admit that the gameplay loop gets a little repetitive toward the later stages of the game. But honestly, that barely matters to me. This game carries a lot of nostalgia for me, along with a simple kind of happiness I used to dream about when I was younger. I finally have my own chicken coop. I finally have the ranch I used to wish I had. For me, Slime Rancher stopped being just a game a long time ago. It's a little piece of a childhood dream that, years later, I finally got to live.
