About
The world was not prepared for the invasion. In a few months, every kingdom of the known world surrendered to the magic-using invaders masquerading as our old Gods. But humanity has not given up yet! Those who dare to oppose the new world order formed the shadow council in secret, and they tasked You to lead the resistance against these false Gods in this turn-based tactical strategy game.
You will need to build and manage bases throughout the continent. These will provide the resources necessary to hire and equip your troops and learn more about the magic the invaders are using. Every region has a unique culture that gives access to different equipment, skills, and resources. You will always have to weigh the importance of the regions in the strategic situation you find yourself in.
The invaders' grip on the continent is not absolute... yet. But they have multiple armies conducting missions every month, and it is your job to figure out the best ways to slow down their advance. The invaders have their own goals they try to achieve with their armies, and they are constantly assessing how much danger the resistance poses to them, and they change those plans accordingly.
In combat, you will lead a 6-8 unit team, which you can fully customize with equipment and skills. To reinforce the customization, there are no classes, only attributes like sword-wielding or barbarian, which all units can learn. This gives you the freedom to mix and match them to create your perfect team.
The resistance managed to get a working teleporter, which serves as their biggest asset. With proper intel and smart unit placement, your team can teleport to exactly where you need them to be, giving you a head start on every mission. Position and teamwork are key to completing your objective.
The game is being built from the ground up to focus on replayability. There are multiple invading forces with different enemies and a reactive campaign AI necessitating a different approach. Nor you will be able to access or afford everything in one playthrough, giving ample space for experimenting with different approaches. Every invasion story will be yours to write. And humanity can only hope you are up to the task to save it from becoming Slaves of Magic!

Overall this game has a lot of potential. It has definite old X-Com vibes which is what I enjoy most about it. I'm not far into the game yet and will likely be pouring hours into it. I definitely see some strong potential here. Right now, it feels like an incomplete game with the UI feeling incomplete. There are also sections of the game that feel disjointed. The best example would be in the "visit base" screen. The ambiance audio loop feels out of place and the art for a base segment being built doesn't seem to match with the art style for the rest of the game. It is almost like it was some borrowed asset from some other project. Because on the visit base screen, you can see the main map zoomed in, you essentially have four styles of art on the screen at the same time (button art, unit art, detailed base art, simple dude swinging a hammer). PLEASE DEVELOPERS For the love of all things holy, until you have a better UI for movement and the likes, please add an undo movement button. The number of times I've accidentally moved the wrong unit to the wrong location because of the current interface is staggering. You can't rotate the map, so you only get one angle of view which makes it very unclear at times exactly who is activated. I'm not asking for a save scumming feature or the like, just an undo movement button or a better movement UI. Also, there are some escort maps where it is literally impossible to get the escort to the escape point within the time limit to get the bonus. I'm not sure if this is "as intended" but it is very frustrating.

Worthy tribute for classic X-com.
If xcom 2 is a 5 star game, this would be a 2 star.
I haven't gotten far yet, but with that said I've been loving this game. It's scratching the Fantasy XCOM itch I've been having for a while now. I don't mind the art style, playing it has been a load of fun. May update later as I play more, which I am looking forward to.
I Greatly enjoy this game but after patch 3 it is very unstable. I played for 3 hours and had 3 crashers either starting combat or mid combat. the dev is very active so hopfuly it gets polished.
The strategic level is just too simplistic in this game and the tactical level uses the simplified nu-xcom system so it's very basic. I have no idea why you would bother with this with games like XCOM files and XPiratez available for free. Also, why is it so purple?
Sorry this game is overloaded with unclear things: - you don't understand how to move units - how to select next unit - how to hit - what all those icons are - what button on the mouse means what It is just a disaster for me - first time I was so angry that just turn off the game and now I'm writing this. Players shoudn't hack the game to understand how to do basic stuff. You should use common patterns everybody used to. I don't even start about the graphic - it is below "bad". But I though I could get used to it if the game is good. But the game is strange. (I'm really sorry, I know how hard it is to make games and I see the dev's love to their product, but you just should not make players suffer on the basic stuff)
