Sky Rogue

This is a pretty good game its like ace combat but gmod.

So much fun, especially with a flight stick

I had this game for years and never really played it much, but recently I got a T.16000 and was trying to find games to just test it out on and I remembered this game from my library. I was surprised that this old-ish little indie game supported my flight stick at all though the only unfortunate part is it doesn't support my throttle mapping, but kb+stick is still nice. Anyways as for the game itself it's pretty simple and arcade-like but it's great. You have a decent amount of options for gatling guns, missles, bombs, and utilities such as flares or boosts, as well as a good variety of aircrafts that offer different weights and stats. The gameplay is pretty simple, you are launched into a randomly generated area with some islands. You have a main objective which is usually non-threatening like destroy a large aircraft, destroy a satelitte, just basically things that won't shoot back at you. There is a decent amount of hazards created with the stage like airborne and grounded hangers launching enemy aircrafts at you, anti air cannons on the ground, the things you would usually expect. You also have some bonus objectives in the form of rigs/radio towers/barracks and the hangers themselves that all just give cash when they are destroyed. The cash is then used to purchase upgrades for your equipment and ship itself for the remainder of the run. It's a very simple loop but it does a good job at it, honestly just a solid minimalist arcade flight sim. The most unfortunate thing is how repetitive it is but when things are being kept this simple there's only so much you can do with it, though I will also admit I have not completed the game yet and there could be more that I have not yet experienced, I just wanted to post the positive review now as I am having a blast with the game so far.
