This game.. Uh, it's really hard to describe. The positives would be, a very well-done artstyle with beautiful background scenary and character design (They are showing a bit too much tho), the overall aesthetic is very nice trying to go for a vintage/noir style. Language and voice customization options are really good and so are the palette swaps for each characters which sometimes even change their voicelines or taunts. And... that's where they end for me cause the story mode of each character gets very repetitive, you can't really get invested into the characters too much unless you are a huge fan or have seen a lot of +18 art (which this game has an unholy amount of). The game mechanics are really complex and hard for a casual player to get into, even more than special combos on other fighting games such as Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. 1v1 is really unbalanced sometimes with some characters having a rather noticeable edge when you don't use the tag mechanic, which, as other reviewer mentioned, has more effort put into it than anything with the idea to combo-tag your opponent. Speaking of combo, you can cero to death with some characters if you know well what you are doing and this bring me to a problem a lot of people pointed out which is the fact that multiplayer is near impossible to get into cause there's way too many people who are good and very little who are just starting or are just decent, scaring away casual players from anything but playing alone or with a friend on couch. This is not a problem per-se the devs caused but it has roots on the extreme difficulty to learn effective combos and get really good with a character when you are not investing hours and hours into the game, buying all DLC and wasting your life away. Speaking of DLC, remember when Big Band, Robo Fortune, Beowulf and Eliza were too? Yeah, they totally screwed over us who bought the original DLC characters by making them part of the main game permanently. Not a move im a fan of, because when you buy extra content you expect for it to not be turned part of the base game out of the blue due to new characters being added. Very anti-consumer move by the developers. I bought all of them during the idle time between their release and when the new ones were announced and honestly, screw you, im not buying any more DLC, and this gives me the final reason which lead me to write a negative review... Score: 4.5/10 (Would've been 5.5/10)
Censorship? no option to remove SonicFox from my game? what a dissapointment.

Я люблю когда меня бьют женщины
buen sistema de combos, excelente personalidad en sus personajes, BEOWULF y mujeres tetonas. 10/10
perfect game for gooners and perverts
This game is basically my introduction to fighting games and BOY I just cannot stop playing, the game is just too much fun, the music is always a joy to listen too and the grind for achievements is DEFINITELY rewarding, the trials really helped me learn each character. It is a shame that development has halted, but it still holds itself up, I would definitely recommend to anyone into 2D fighting!! BTW Don't mind the specs, I just wanted to see what it looks like.
Bought it in 2014. Spent a good majority of my hours in training mode and solo because 1v1 gives me anxiety xD Absolutely enamored with the universe and characters, the music slaps, the game feels great to play, and the tutorials were a great introduction to what is essentially my first and only "traditional" fighting game. Grew up with the game's development, it was a pleasure to watch it evolve and improve. Trying characters in alpha and beta and seeing them fleshed out bit by bit was really exciting, they even gave them away for free for a brief moment after their official release! While I'm saddened by the turn things took, I am grateful to the devs, both the original and the most recent team, for creating one of my favorite and most influential titles. And an extra special thank you to the voice actors for breathing life into those characters I love. Skullgirls was, is, and will continue to be an awesome game.
Very poor fighter with lack lustre art. It seems they have self-censored out anything that might be in any way novel or of interest also.
