I like that it feels like THPS but i missing some features and very often, the game feels a bit clumsy. The tricks works fine but a combo is not that easy because the keys sometimes do not work properly or the timing is hard. And i missing some animations for the switch between grinds and tricks etc. to get the right moment. But i think, it will be netter in the future!
I'd consider this a 5 or 6/10 that, while having many elements from Tony Hawk I enjoy (and even a couple expansions on those games' ideas), there are too many technical negatives to wholeheartedly recommend. + unique level themes + all of the soundtrack bangs + unlocking more cosmetics as you complete goals + secret areas are fun to unlock, and getting new board types is a great reward for them + the tony hawk formula continues to work well as a sandbox for expressive movement = i wish the cosmetic item unlocks were all unique (with more pieces), and all recolors were just options within an unlock = i wish the soundtrack was at least double in size, with maybe some hip-hop and even some local acts from her hometown = the level design, while alright, left much to be desired (not nearly the flow of a Neversoft map), and goals did not ramp up in difficulty NEARLY enough. Perhaps a unlockable hard mode with new objectives that incorporate the entire level + secret areas? = skater body during flip tricks feels a little lifeless = Goal objectives should be larger and more clearly marked in-game - bugged achievements for tasks that are not something I'd consider "achievements" - absence of boneless/nocomply and wallrides (these 2 are SORELY missing), lip tricks, manual/grind extensions, special tricks, or leveling out of vert - starting to move from a standstill takes WAY TOO LONG - gaining and losing speed makes zero sense, leading to many combos coming to a grinding halt - grind balance meter being under the skater means you're staring under the skater instead of ahead to where you're going. This feels bad in a way that might not be obvious until you play. - absence of "coyote time" on any and all objects leads to jump inputs getting eaten (no air and likely bail), and many dropped combos when landing in revert or manual - far too many types of player/geo interactions lead to a bail (almost feels like THPSHD/5). Grind objects often end into level geo (bail instead of pushing you out/away). Jumping into a rail will often bail instead of starting the grind You might see a lot more negative here than positive (and you'd be right in a way), but the fun of the sandbox and progression made up for a lot of the frustrations. I do hope that AT LEAST the last two negatives are addressed, as they will be a reason many will drop this game early. If you have a moderate tolerance for indie game jank, there's a good few hours of fun, so maybe pick it up on sale!
this game actually has serious potential. i'm sad i have to give it a thumbs down but if fixed i will change my review. please slow this game down it is way too fast to be able to play combo based like it is supposed to be. some character options would be nice. the music is fitting, the stage i played on actually felt good very THPS-like. performance was pretty solid, gameplay and controls felt smooth.
this game somehow plays worse than THPS5. If you play THPS games to score don't even waste your time. I wish I didnt have to say that, was looking forward to checking this game out
Kann ich null Empfehlen, bei kleinster Wandberührung sind alle Punkte weg. Keine Wallrides möglich.
Achievements are bugged and still no update
Tony Hawks pro skater clone made for gooners, the game itself is aight but I recommend you buying THPS
Solid game :3
