About
Held captive by the abandoned Signal Creek Shopping Mall, Nour and her companions must come to terms with their deepest regrets or lose themselves to the Void.

Signal Creek is a dialogue-driven RPG set in the surreal pixel art world of a sentient abandoned shopping mall. Playing as college student Nour, you and your companions Nick and Ms. Gaw embark on a journey of reconciliation with the past while searching for a way to escape the mall.
You are trapped with your younger brother's best friend and your professional mentor in a place that’s right out of your strangest dreams! Search the top floor of the mall to find objects and interact with characters that may hold the secrets to your escape.
Your deepest regrets have somehow materialized in an alternate reality — Nick must face his growing pains, Ms. Gaw has unsettled business from law school, and your estranged friend is back to haunt you.
Discover three old (or new?) spaces that house a colorful cast of NPCs! What kind of mall trip would it be without a glitchy uwu-tastic store manager, a troupe of talking (regal) apples, and some guy named Tim wearing shoes on his hands?

Laughing out loud the whole way through so far. Can't wait to find the rest of the apples. Or aples...
I played this through in one sitting and really enjoyed it. Loved the dynamic between characters, the visual design, the absurdness and the humour. It's also very moving with an important message. A lovely little indie game that the creators should be very proud of <3

signal creek is a short narrative game that can be completed in one sitting. stunning pixel art, fun banter between characters, and a rocking soundtrack. need aple quest as its own game. and maybe i have bias, since snacktime games is made by people i love. but this game is good and so is what it's trying to say.
The game has a very pleasant atmosphere and yet touches on important issues concerning dealing with the past. Emotions are nicely presented visually and narratively.
Absolutely loved it! It was charming, polished, intuitive to play, and heartfelt. Unfortunately, it's not every day I play a game with a really well-structured, well-written, humanistic, and compelling story, so when I played through the entire game in one sitting (even though I probably should've gone to bed lol), I was pleasantly surprised. The design of the story lines, how they overlap and naturally develop the characters' relationships with each other, demonstrates a solid ability not only to just tell good stories but also to tell multiple at the same time within well-constructed subplots. Put simply, these storytellers showcase a rare level of skill, as they're able to provide a truly special narrative experience in just under two and a half hours, as that's how long it took me to beat the game. Sorry, I can't help but be analytical. Just know, these developers should be incredibly proud of the amazing art they've created, and if you, reader of my review, is on the fence, don't be. Signal Creek is a wonderfully human way to spend your time, and a delightfully memorable experience.
This game is beautiful in both its visuals, and story! My only things is I wish it was longer, but honestly that’s just because I would love to see more games from snacktime games! I would highly recommend this game to young adults/teens, especially if they’re queer, or anyone who struggles with moving on from their past regrets. Or, if you just want a nice short and sweet little game. The pixel art is so pretty and well done, and the characters are very charming! A beautiful hidden gem amongst indie titles. Also, for all my Steam Deck users, I played this game on my Steam Deck and it worked great with default controls! Only thing is I had to use the touch screen once after selecting a file and being taken to the “load file” screen because it didn’t seem like any button I pressed (and the touch pad) did anything aside from the back button.
A charming, albeit short, experience. With it being the focus of the game, I won't say too much about the story other than it being well-written (and for the record, I'm a pedantic jerk when it comes to dialog). I have poor impulse control when it comes to buying games, and my ADHD means that I flit from one to the other pretty quickly, but Signal Creek kept me engaged throughout its two hour runtime, which is saying something. If you're okay with the gameiness of your games taking a back seat in service of a story being told, this is well worth checking out.
"avoiding vulnerability doesn't make you stronger or smarter" 💝🖤🖤 🟩 neat art, nice writing 🔷 linear narrative focus 🔴 i disliked the apples vibes: quirky surreal loops: explore spooky abandoned eldritch mall engaging in intervention therapy that won't let you out until you confront personal problems and talk about it ramblings: very neat little game, basically just three short little stories exploring characters, i thought two of them were quite well done. nour and ms. gaw's stories both felt genuine and strong, on the other hand, while i kinda liked nick as a character in this group dynamic they formed, his actual storyline was just incredibly weak in comparison. it felt like it not only took up a disproportionate amount of time but was nearly entirely focused on the task of finding these quirky apples that take up so much dialog and were tenuously linked to his personal struggles which received little actual narrative. i don't know, the two others seemed like they had actual exploration and resolutions whereas nick was just kind of there. exploring the mall was cute, the dialog was good and i like all the little expression variations in character portraits. verdicts: i liked it, admittedly i only really liked roughly two thirds of it, but it was a nice narrative experience.
