Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 2.14/day in the week after.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1301.57/day in the week to Jul 25 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

naaah, nothing interesting
Enjoy and play regularly

i really like it.
I came back to this and am very glad I did. I hadn't actually played it since I bought the Rising Tide expansion, and it really cleaned up and clarified a lot of systems. Evaluating this game in its own right, independently of other related and similar entries, Beyond Earth is a great game. I think it misses the mark in a few key systems: * the sheer number of buildings means that after midgame you'll forget what the names of these things are and just look at their bonuses, and they lose their flavor * some of the quests feel essential for early game storytelling (not progression, storytelling), but I could not complete them until late game for me--that just feels weird. Like, I've explored the entire map, have huge cities, reached level 10 in Harmony, but am just now finally learning something new from the alien biopsies? * I wish the units' names didn't change. I learned their names at the beginning of the game, but not really their icons, now I have to mouseover each one to figure out if it's the melee unit, tank, or ranged unit. * The lore and storytelling of the game consists of little blue boxes with a couple or maybe three short paragraphs. The wonder screens are the same. Even some voiceovers would have added a LOT to this, so this is a big bummer. What this game gets right: * Great music. * I love the Harmony–Purity–Supremacy system as a parallel with tech and virtues. My cities' building styles reflect my choices, and I benefit from meaningful changes on the game map--especially Harmony. * Diversity and abundance of resources means that there aren't just one or two viable spots to put a city. I like choice, and sometimes things are so scarce that it takes away choices. I like the flavors of the difference resources. I can relate to some (Chitin, Minerals, Algae, Titanium), and others are exotic and interesting (Floatstone). * The sponsors/factions/civs. I think they could be more extreme and different from each other--they all feel kind of the same, but they are meaningfully different. I just wish they were more different. * I do really like the virtue system in this game, with the tier bonuses and synergy bonuses. It makes my choices matter more. * Good diversity of improvements. There are good reasons to swap out early-game tile improvements for late-game improvements--or keep them to upgrade them with tech instead! Again, choice is good. * I love the alien planet art, terrain art, unit art, user interface art (its usability is mid tho). Anyway, it's a good game, well worth a handful of USD on sale. Looking forward to the next sci-fi installment of a Civ to innovate and be even better than this one—and maybe live up to the legendary titles in the past.
My initial impressions are it has the Civ juice. Not sure what all the complaints are about.
