About
The light must never go out.
In the middle of a cold, endless sea stands a solitary lighthouse. Around it, your island begins to take shape, tile by tile, piece by piece. The sun breaks through the clouds and hope is in the air, but something eerie lurks beneath the surface.
ShoreTiles is a strategic building and defense game where strategy, wits and luck all contribute to your island’s ultimate fate. What begins as calm construction by day turns into a desperate fight for survival by night.
Build what must protect you:
Draw island tiles from an unforgiving deck and place them into your world. There is no undo, only what comes next. Connect matching terrain types, form patterns, and impose order on chaos. Efficient planning rewards you. Hesitation costs you space. But no matter how perfect your island looks… it is never truly safe.
Prepare while you still can:
Coins are more than progress, they are your only form of control:
Raise new Lighthouses to push back the fog
Build Settlements, Farms and Walls to bring your island to life and earn gold
Establish Military Camps to defend your island from they who lurk below
Because when darkness falls, they rise:
Creatures emerge from the depths. Twisted forms, neither human nor beast. Silent. Relentless. Drawn to the lights and the lives of those on the shore. Your defense depends entirely on your preparation. Connected military tiles determine how many units stand against them.
And sometimes… it won’t be enough.
As your island expands, the diversity of its structures and units grows with it.
Discover remnants of those who came before you, such as gold chests, relics and more, as well as discovering new building types & combat units through the Progress Map - However, as you progress, the fog may reveal advantages for your battles, but it can also bring new enemies.
Features:
Atmospheric tile placement centered around vulnerable lighthouses
Constant pressure from an unseen threat beneath the waves
Strategic combo mechanics with meaningful trade-offs
Nightly attacks from eerie deep-sea creatures
A fragile balance between expansion, economy, and defense
High replayability through randomized tile sequences
What ShoreTiles is:
A calm yet deeply unsettling gameplay experience
Strategic planning under growing pressure
A dark coastal atmosphere inspired by the 1960s
A constant tension between control and collapse
What ShoreTiles is not:
Not a cozy builder without consequences
Not a safe experience
No escape from the night
As long as the light burns, you still have a chance. The only question is: For how long?

First impression is pretty good. Days are similar to Dorf Romantic, nights are real time tower defense.
build your island during the day dorfromantik style, tower defense to protect it at night. very fun and satisfying! would pay for a pacifist mode DLC where i can build giant islands without the tower defense
Excellent jeu, je m’amuse beaucoup jusqu’à présent ! Excellent travail sur la localisation également, j’apprécie les efforts fournis.

my feelings about this game are complex. I really want to like the game, and I do like it in essence. the concept and gameplay are fun and I've been mostly enjoying my hour of gameplay so far. the buying and building phases are fun and require some puzzling from the player, which is good. it however has a number of problems that need to be fixed for this game to be truly enjoyable. first of there seems to be some glitches or UI problems. sometimes I need to restart the game because a tile gets stuck on screen and overlays with the shop or the next tile. your units seem to also be able to get stuck in their boat animation which slows them down. combat in general also has some problems which makes it feel unnecessarily tedious. selecting or unselecting units is very difficult so sometimes you move more units than you intended which makes you suffer unnecessary damage. you are also unable to deselect units whilst paused. and you can also not split up units whilst paused. which means you have to unpause a lot whilst you are still getting ready. if you combine this with a lack of hotkeys for things like pausing (as far as I'm aware) this gets tedious very quickly. even with these problems I see myself playing this some more and think the game will be worth my money. and I hold high hope that the devs see these problems and fix them
ShoreTiles is ridiculously captivating. I genuinely can't stop playing it. The tile system is probably my favourite part. Trying to solve the puzzle of where to put those bloody tiles, planning ahead and somehow making everything fit together is incredibly satisfying. Then night comes and the whole game changes. Everything goes dark and suddenly your lighthouses are the only things keeping the island visible. When one goes down, that whole area basically disappears into a fog of war and what was a peaceful little building puzzle five minutes ago turns into absolute chaos as you try to survive the next wave. And the waves just keep getting harder. What keeps me coming back is that you're constantly working towards something. You're not just trying to survive you're completing challenges like connecting 15 houses to unlock another power-up tile, which might give you the extra economy or advantage you desperately need to survive the next wave. So every run becomes "I'll just try this differently..." or "I'll just unlock this next tile..." and suddenly you've started another game. It's such a simple concept on the surface, but the combination of puzzle solving, building your economy and then desperately defending everything you've just spent ages creating works incredibly well. Very easy game to pick up. Very difficult game to put down. And seriously... those bloody tiles.

The base building section of the game is interesting and pretty fun. The Economy and defense part really needs a lot of work before its playable, you very quickly get outnumber by enemies and you can only split large grouped units once so dividing/ spreading them throughout the island doesnt work after a number of nights, economy is almost impossible to keep up and even maximizing bonuses doesnt work after awhile, Damage seems incredibly random, enemy health points and unit damage would be incredibly helpful to know and i dont understand why it hasnt been implemented, it makes it so that you never know how many units to send. Useless tiles really stack up too and large sections of the island have to be dedicated to them (trees and walls) I know you can destroy them but the price of dynamite increases very quickly. The bonus loot chests are completely useless because if you want them you need to complete a task to get them by using valuable tiles and the rewards are NEVER and I really mean never worth it I tried 5 of them and it was always a let down. Lastly music is very repetitive and after 30 minutes I just turned it off completely which was a let down because normally these types of games at least have a decent sound track. Final notes - Decent concept but feels 30-40 percent done, better unit management and better units need to be implemented for any kind of long term playthrough. Also please make it so that you dont have to spam pause every 5 seconds to have any kind of unit placement, i feel like i need to be on Adderall to play this game at normal speed SLOW IT DOWN
