About
Shelves And Sorcery is a relaxing fantasy organization game about turning absolute chaos back into order.
Weapons, potions, spellbooks, fruits, vegetables, magical curiosities, and thousands of other items have been scattered throughout three fantasy shops. Pick everything up, find where it belongs, and slowly watch each shop return to the way it was meant to be.
Take your time and enjoy the satisfaction of putting everything in its place, or learn every corner of the shop and race against players around the world for the fastest time.
Choose from three shops of dramatically different sizes, each with its own setting, atmosphere, and challenge. Then return to them in four different modes, whether you want to relax, chase the fastest time, wield every bit of magic from the start, or organize without magic at all.
• Casual Mode – No timer and no pressure. Take your time, enjoy the atmosphere, and organize every shelf at your own pace.
• Timed Mode – Race against the clock and compete on the global leaderboards. Learn where every item belongs, master your Sorceries and Enchantments, perfect your route, and keep pushing for a faster time.
• Archmage Mode – Start with every Sorcery and Enchantment already unlocked. Take on the entire shop at full magical strength and see just how powerful an experienced shopkeeper can be.
• No Magic Mode – The magic of the world has escaped. No Sorceries. No Enchantments. No magical shortcuts. Just you, thousands of misplaced items, and the knowledge you've gained along the way.
1,000+ items to organize
A cozy shop tucked away in the quiet village of Burg. Once a welcoming stop for locals and passing adventurers, its shelves have fallen into disarray. With 1,048 items to restore, it's a comfortable introduction to the satisfying world of organizing.
3,000+ items to organize
A well-loved shop in the bustling market town of Stonebridge, built through years of honest work by its humble merchant. With 3,085 misplaced items, restoring The Merchant's Rest offers a much larger challenge with plenty of shelves waiting to be put right.
4,000+ items to organize
High above the clouds on the floating isle of Vane stands a legendary shop filled with magical treasures from across the world. With 4,066 items scattered throughout, The Grand Athenaeum is the largest challenge of them all. Take your time restoring it, or master every shelf and chase the fastest time.
Thankfully, you don't have to organize thousands of magical objects entirely by hand.
As you make progress, unlock Sorceries designed to help you tackle the mess.
Gather matching items from around the shop, reveal objects you've been struggling to find, or use magic to send items toward the shelves where they belong.
The more you organize, the more powerful your magical toolkit becomes.
Magic isn't limited to spells.
Unlock Enchantments that permanently improve your abilities and change how you move through each shop.
Carry more items at once. Increase your reach. Move faster. Jump higher. Eventually, even take to the air.
Combined with your Sorceries, these abilities can turn an experienced shopkeeper into an organizing force of nature and become an important part of chasing faster times.
Whether you're carefully organizing The Hearth & Barrel after a long day, working your way through the thousands of items inside The Merchant's Rest, or fighting for a place on the leaderboard in The Grand Athenaeum, Shelves And Sorcery is built around one simple satisfaction:
Finding where something belongs...
and finally putting it there.

Sorry, but if even the basics of the game do not work, then I'm out. 1 too much white thread to fit into the shelves, but one marie figure is missing instead. If you can't even finish the easiest room without a bug, then there will be a refund.
I enjoyed the music in this game, the atmosphere was 10/10. The items are cute and all have unique names, which I appreciate. If you like sorting games you'll like this one for sure. Also I am happy that this game has no gen ai. Worth the money in my opinion.

Oh my god, no. To get every achievement, you need to do every level, 4 times. Doing a level once, is an extremely lengthy slog. Have you ever wanted to organise assets that a developer didn't make themselves and very clearly just bought off a store and threw into a game whether or not they fit that game? It's not quite an asset flip, they did try to make things fit.... but it's on the edge of it. A major issue with this game is the lack of accessibility options. If you have any colourblindness and/or have issues reading small text, you should just skip this entirely. The developer didn't include options to make the game easier on you. I should note, I have flawless vision... I'm finding it hard to tell things apart. When you look down to put things on a lower shelf (Because of some reason crouch is really slow) it changes colour in your hand. So telling what goes where becomes really hard. Too many books look the same or have similar names. Book of Magic, Book of Magic (Revised) Book of Magic (revised again) and they're all similar colours. THis is just cruel and unusual. There's upgrades for levelling, it would've been better if instead of adding a useless triple and quadruple jump, they added a "crouch faster" upgrade. The character crouches slower than me, and my knees are quite bad. It's just boring, there's no interesting gameplay here, it's just take these things that look the same and put them in the same place. Which... I guess is the appeal of these organisation games... But this one does it very poorly. Furthermore... every now and then my textures would stop working and I'd have to re-open the game. Try organising books when they're all the same greyish blob. It was already hard, it's worse now. The game also suffers occasional lag spikes. Which fair, there's a lot of assets being flipped around. (See what I did there? I exhibited about as much creativity as the developer.) This game does it better: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4928820/Shelve_the_Potions/ Instead of just being the same item on each shelf, you have figure out puzzles to work out the right order. Now, unfortunately, a lot of different colours are the same puzzle, that gets a bit boring. But it doesn't take 30 hours to get every achievement. (That's a rough estimate) I got every achievement in my first play of Shelve the potions. And I had plenty of time to pet all the cats. This game does not have cats, you have to play through it multiple times to get every achievement, playing through it once is a massive slog. Just don't. It's not worth your time, the developer didn't put any effort into this. Why should you? Thanks for reading, or skipping to the end. Whether or not you agree with me, I hope you have a lovely day. Sorry for disabling comments. Toxicity. You can disagree with me all you want, hell, you can hate me... But please, don't get angry at me. Where it comes to recommending other games, I'm trying to give you a view on a game that does something similar, but better. It helps me explain where I'm coming from, you're entirely welcome to disagree with me, but getting mad at me doesn't help. Furthermore, if the game I recommend instead is one you've tried before and didn't like, you might then think that I'm wrong on this game, that's cool too. I'm not here to be agreed with or disagreed with, I'm here to explain why I don't recommend this game. Finally, I word my recommendation of another game carefully. I'm not telling people to buy it, I'm saying that game does it better, which does not count as an advertisement. If I were to say "Buy X, don't buy Y, Y is terrible." then that would be against steams TOS. But the way I'm doing it, as far as I'm aware, is not against it. If I ever make a mistake, let me know... nicely. I have a lot of issues with stress and depression, I don't mind criticism, I just don't handle people being mad with me very well.
Marvelous fun for anyone who likes to relax and organize gorgeous objects. So satisfying and enjoyable! I used to be a librarian so I've kind of got this in my blood, and this game scratches that itch perfectly. I've only done one of the three areas and I'm so delighted there are 2 more to complete! WONDERFUL. I would say the only con is repetitive music, so I turn it off and go over to YouTube and listen to an ambient playlist like "meditation" or classical, anything relaxing and mellow...it's super!
I love this game, ive had so much fun with it. Its relaxing and i love that you can change the music tracks on the harp, its such a good touch. If you want something to just zone otu to, its your game! Awesome games from an awesome developer!
This is a relaxing game made by the excellent developer of Teddy's Haven. The music is nice and relaxing, the assets are not cheap and generic like some entries in this genre, and the 3 different stores are nicely decorated and they look like a store that you would genuinely want to visit and shop at. As someone who has played Teddy's Haven, a lot of the assets are familiar, and some are new enough to me that they have me wondering if they are teasing new features yet to be added to Teddy's. The music is reminiscent of Tavern Master (another great game that deserves more attention), and it is very easy to become lost in this store as you clean it up. One of the few games that doesn't have me turning on background music while I play.
Awesome Game. Great Developer. There are a lot of choices out there for 'clean up' - all done by AI. This one sits head and shoulders above the rest just for the asset design (similar to their other game - Teddy's Haven - go check it out!) and the love and attention paid by the developer. Add to that the game is a lot of fun if you enjoy sorting things just to relax your brain and it's easy to choose. I've been following Teddy's Haven, their other game, for ages and they've poured so much into it - free! Support developers like this! They are unicorns these days!
Phew. Finished the game, 100% achievements - which included completing each mode for each map (4 modes, 3 maps = 12 playthroughs minimum). I quite enjoyed the brain numbing cozy organizing this game offered. Even when doing the no magic mode (which u can still upgrade bag space magic fortunately), the categories are clear and distinct enough. even within the categories, the different subcategories made sense and were quite clever. Also especially loved that the Timed mode was NOT a speed run, because I sometimes have skill issues.
The game basically is "Here's a pile of 3000 random items. Restock all of the shelves at a Wal-Mart." The TL;DR: It feels less like "tidying up a store" and more just "put thing on shelf" after a certain point. There are three maps, one with 1000+ items, then 3000+ items, and the last is with 4000+ items. They're all thematically about the same, except one has rainy windows and the other has floating candles, but the interior is otherwise exactly the same. There is no clear reason for why anything is the way it is, which is confusing. Like, I have no idea why this small grocery store sells like, 6 different kinds of action figures, 20 different magic potions, 3 dragon eggs, and is a *Grocery store* so it also sells 20 types of berries (3 of which are different shades of black), 2 types of corn, 3 types of potato, 4 types of tomatoes and watermelons. Just watermelons. Why is my store selling adventuring gear with tiny action figure Space Maries? They ask me to stock basically a small library with random assortments of books, and I made a mistake of trying to sort the books by themes, but there's SO MANY DIFFERENT BOOKS that after a certain point, I'm more just going "Does this book fit in this slot?" rather than caring about the actual aesthetics or themes on the books, which I think is counter productive to the idea of the game. I realized I was getting annoyed on the 3rd map because there are "Hi-Potions of X" and "Potions of X" but I have literally 2000 things on the floor that all are about the size of an apple and the only thing to differentiate them is the color of it. Is it red, or more of a orange-red? Or deep red? There's a "Potion of Y" that comes in 3 different types. I **think.** But there's a similar naming convention that comes in 4's. And some are one-off piles. Have you ever felt colorblind? Would you like to? I had to sort berries between 6 different shades of orange, tan and brown. Oh, that one's "Mocha".
Brilliant organiser game, especially with the introduction of challenge modes and leaderboards. Dev was smart to use assets from their shopkeeping game as they're beautifully designed and have some funny names and references to keep it fresh. The abilities also scale up in the amount of currency you need to purchase them, so it's harder to rely on a single ability in the same way that you do in Library. Sound design is a little rough (I had to mute because I cannot STAND the pickup noise) but I'd still describe this as my second favourite organiser after library, and trust me, I've been playing a LOT of them while I recover from a chest infection!
