Sheepy: A Short Adventure is an absolutely gorgeous mini platformer with tight controls, excellent pacing, and is COMPLETELY FREE. You play a sheep plush given life by some mysterious force named Sheepy. You venture through a dilapidated, underground research facility, unlocking new abilities that enhance your movement capabilities. There are no real enemies to deal with outside a few boss fights, so combat isn’t a factor here. Instead, it’s pure atmospheric platforming. The controls are smooth, allowing you to make precise jumps without a struggle, and if you do fall you are quickly brought back to try again. The gameplay is simple, yet satisfying, suitable for the game’s short run time. Sheepy really stands out in both graphics and sound design. It is absolutely gorgeous, with tremendous visual set pieces to reward you for progressing through the facility. I am shocked that a game that looks this good is free, but I am very happy that it is. The game is great for what it sets out to do, and bows out before any of it becomes stale. It looks great, plays well, and is totally free. If you are in any way interested in platformers, you have no reason to give Sheepy a go.
