About
Get ready to build upwards, fill the smallest gaps, and find clever ways to place light sources or decorations that breathe life into every corner.
This is a world where every balcony, interesting poster, and plant tells a story. And you’re the one organising it!

This game is inspired by my love for densely built cities around the world, which is why I packed in 20 distinct locations for you to explore, each with its own mood and identity.
Be it the warm glow of the Hotpot Casino, the charmingly cramped spaces of the Marshlands Pipe, or the solitude of the Lighthouse, every space gives you a new perspective.
How you place things together is entirely up to you.
Upgrades are available for larger structures like buildings and gates, but they’ll need a bit of care to reach their full potential. By providing light, utilities, and decorations, places like shops, apartment blocks, or gates can evolve into detailed spaces. Completing an upgrade unlocks new objects and decorations, giving you even more ways to shape the town.
When you finish a location, frame the shot, take a pic, then add it to your dossier before moving to your next blank canvas.

Each location presents a unique set of objects and a limited space to build within. Whether it’s food trucks, neon signs, or industrial smokestacks, players must carefully fit everything together to create a dense, living space that feels right.
This is a casual game through and through. There are no wrong answers here. Remember to make each placement personal, and every messy little corner adds to the charm.

65/100 纯粹的沙盒搭建游戏,没了 适合不知道干什么的时候静下心来放松
I saw the trailer for ShantyTown and was instantly intrigued. I have been playing the indie building, unpacking and other types of genre games for a bit now and enjoy them. They give me respite in between the madness of everyday life. With ShantyTown I was attracted by the very overdrawn aesthetic. I was very surprised by the execution, which treats "levels" as components of the same world and you can see your past creations in the distance. This felt profound and meaningful. While I was able to solve a lot of the stages I did feel like there was a trial and error approach I only grasped too late. Likely that was my misunderstanding. If there is one criticism that I have, it is that I feel the blur effect in the game is too strong. When trying to take screenshots I felt that there were instances where I wanted to have better and further control of the game camera, but the blurriness of the image was hardcoded into the game. Maybe I am not looking in the right place, but this feels like it does the game a huge disservice.

Pretty cool and chill
There is not really a whole lot to say about this one, it is a cozy builder game with a gorgeous art style... You aren't really building big cities in this one, more like small little communities and neighborhoods, and the different areas you build in do a good job at presenting different settings and vibes that all feel inviting in their own ways. This is a small game with straightforward controls, and it allows you to take all the time in the world to get things just how you want them... or as close to how you want them for the most part. It is not a super challenging game, which I think was never the goal anyways, but there is a bit of a puzzle element to it if you want to unlock all the achievements. I really had fun with this one overall, and I really liked how every location came together nicely in their own specific ways while you build your townships. My main criticism is that the buildings and decorations started to feel "samey" after a few hours of gameplay. There isn't quite as much of variety as I would have liked, but I can imagine this would be the kind of stuff that will be added to the game over time. Right now though, there is not enough content for a second playthrough, but I will keep an eye out for future content (patches, dls, expansions) in hopes that there will be enough new stuff to make a second playthrough interesting.
A beautiful cute game..... really peaceful. Looks like anything would be cute 🤣
This is a very enjoyable and relaxing game. I love the puzzle element of trying to get the right combinations to upgrade buildings and hit the level goals. My only complaints are that on some maps the camera can glitch into the wall (e.g. the Marsh Pipe map) and I hate working with stilts, they are super finicky.
Incredibly fun and charming Great vibes, love the attention to detail, and had a great time playing!
Um joguinho bem agradável para criar e personalizar construções, uma ambientação e música super calmantes
A relaxing, happy vibes little city builder. Delightful.
Stunning game with an outstanding soundtrack. The perfect balance of creativity and challenge, it's cozy enough to get lost in for hours while interesting enough to keep you engaged. And again, the soundtrack.
