Good artstyle, chill grind. Survivors gameplay in aRPG enviroment. I like the game for what it is, and wuld say that it is worth a try and a purchase. If you want to view this as purely aRPG, and not half-idle game, then it falls short. No matter what character, and what build you play - gameplay is the same, game plays itself, and there is no story or lore at all (not that it matters to me much). The way you make a build is strictly numbers game. You chose in wich color you want your screen to explode, then you learn every skill of that color skill tree (you have more then enough SP). Gearwise, you just make sure it has highest level and has offensive and skill bonuses in your color of choise. Then you just optimize that all the bonuses funnel into few skills that you use. Its hard to specialize in anything, because everythings scales from single base damage source, every skill tree has every mechanic (talking about Mage and Necro), you have projectiles, AOEs, DOTs and summons in every tree You always use simultaniously all of them and they scale from your raw damage and elemental damage of that tree, wich makes it even harder to find anything unique in gameplay. You can spec into multiple skill trees, and there is gear that supports it, but what will change is your screen will flash in two colors now. Once you chose your color what you will be doing is just walking through the dungeons, while your character auto-attacks, auto-collects, and your fairy auto-sells filtered gear. Get best gear, farm hight paragon levels, and push as far as you can (or untill you are bored). Thats the game. Oh yeah, worth to mention, for the longest time, untill you hit late-game numbers crunching, ITS OVERWHELMINGLY EASY, YOU ARE IMMORTAL GOD, NOTHING CAN TOUCH YOU AND PERISHES IN YOUR PRESENCE.

后面的怪都是数值增加,没有玩法的更新,制作确实很糙,
heavy use of generative ai without disclosure on steam page.
Shadow Dungeon feels a bit like a more simplistic Chronicon, which I personally already don't like for being a more simplistic *insert almost any ARPG here*. The weightless combat and flat (pun intended) artstyle are present here as well, most upgrades and skills in the skill tree are pretty boring and/or samey, and it's mostly just a very slow walking through linear dungeons with a lot of (mostly pointless) loot that is hard to compare to what you're currently wearing, while casting a lot of flashy skills that make it impossible to see what you're doing, which is fine because everything dies instantly anyway. It really goes to show how important it is for an ARPG to have interesting sound- and level design as well as impactful skills and enemies to make progression more satisfying. It's not super expensive, so it might be worth for a couple hours of fun of mowing down thousands of enemies, but personally I'd rather play most other ARPGs where you can do that same thing but better.
First, you pick one of four characters that fit the fantasy setting, including a ranger and a necromancer. Your choice matters because the experience you gain from going on runs is not shared between characters. This means you will want to spend your time leveling up the character you feel most comfortable playing. Another thing to consider is which of the three skill trees you want to invest in, as each character comes with three extensive trees. Although you can mix things around, it is better to focus on one tree so you can unlock the best upgrades and perks further up. Each tree starts from the bottom and requires you to invest a certain number of points before unlocking the second tier, followed by another few points for the third tier, and so on. Some skills can be purchased only once, while others can be upgraded two or three times to improve their effectiveness. The majority of skills are new attacks that you can add to your skill bar and activate at the press of a button. However, everything requires mana, which regenerates slowly over time. You can also add effects to your main attack, but you need to be careful because they can drain your mana surprisingly quickly. A few skills are passive, meaning they are always active and do not need to be equipped. Skill points are earned by playing through stages. These are separated into chapters and accessed from a small hub, with each stage being a more or less linear path filled with enemies. To make things easier, you can turn on auto fire, as the focus is entirely on ranged combat. This lets you concentrate more on movement and keeping your distance from enemies. Each stage also has a map that shows the exact layout, along with treasure and enemies as they spawn. Enemies always appear in front of you, so there are no unpleasant surprises from behind. Enemies sometimes drop loot that you collect automatically. There is plenty of loot to find, and you can get lucky with some nice gear featuring good rarity and useful perks. However, having so much loot also means dealing with inventory management. Whenever you find something new, you need to open the inventory and equip the gear manually. Although the game shows the stats of your new gear alongside the stats of the gear you currently have equipped, it does not use green or red numbers to quickly show whether something is an upgrade. Instead, you will probably make your decision based on the gear's price. If something is worth more, you will probably want to equip it. This is also the preferred approach because gear comes with all kinds of random stats and bonuses, and you do not want to waste too much time comparing every single detail. Your inventory can fill up quickly, so you will want to return to the main hub using teleportation stones, which can be found in every stage. Each chapter contains several stages, and you can always teleport back to a previous one if you missed something. That said, there is never really anything you need to worry about missing, as there are no secrets or permanently missable items that you will regret leaving behind. Once you are back at the hub, you can quickly sell your unwanted gear with a single button. You can then use the money to buy something new, improve your current weapons, or store items you might need later in a chest. One important thing to know about the chest is that it is shared between all characters. If you find good gear for another character, especially a weapon, you can store it there and make it available to them later. This does not happen very often because most drops are designed for your current character, but it can happen. The higher your level, the better the gear you can find. Still, you will probably end up focusing almost entirely on one character. Overall, the game is very enjoyable because you can get good gear quickly and take enemies out with a single shot. Enemies spawn in groups of around ten, with each group usually consisting of the same enemy type. There are plenty of different enemies to encounter, and several groups can appear close together, creating some hectic moments. You may also encounter elite enemies with more health or mini bosses with their own health bar and name displayed at the top of the screen. However, they are not particularly difficult to defeat because the stages give you plenty of room to maneuver. As long as you keep moving and maintain your distance, most encounters remain manageable.
