Seasons After Fall is my favorite games. I have played it twice, and am currently playing it for the third time. It is the beautiful and touching game I have ever seen. I am so grateful that I got to play it, experience it--and can do so any time I want. Some general details that you've probably heard everywhere from everyone: Control a wild fox with the ability to change the seasons. Now, some details from me: First off, the gameplay and story. It's a puzzle game, definitely, and the puzzles have this great mix of easiness and challenge that keeps you, well, wanting to finish them I guess. It gets tedious and annoying at times, but that makes you feel like you accomplished something when you get a puzzle right. I like how the developers incorporated platforming and jumping into the puzzles, it makes it harder but more entertaining, if you know what I mean. The story is... touching. It's so sad and tragic and makes you think, but its so well made and good and the ending is a happy ending. Maybe not happy, in the "every thing is perfect" sense. But in the "something good, at least a little bit good, happened. Something that you did" sense. And you feel proud and guilty at the same time, no matter how many times you play. Oh, and there's voice-acting. Great, skilled voice-acting that fits the characters. Second, the art and music. Both the foreground and the backgrounds are detailed and alive. It has a sketchy style, that is perfect for the story its telling and the music matches that fantasy-but-real, ominous-but-peaceful vibe the art gives. Its truly beautiful. And, like I said a second ago, the music matches the story and art. It's violon (and/or violon-like instruments) and a bit of piano here and there if I remember correctly. Whenever I have something to do I usually start by putting on the Seasons After Fall soundtrack in the background. And, you probably inferred this, but there are no vocalizations in the music. The music is also made by the same people that made the Stray soundtrack. This next section within this paragraph isn't exactly like music or art, but it is the ambiance noises. There's birdsong and...frog(?) sounds in places, which are very clear and, for the birdsong at least, realistic. Third, the universe in which this story takes place. The plants and animals are similar to Earth's. There are stones and water, which are the same and in the same places, so that gives you the idea that this takes place in a made up land here on Earth. That's not what I think, but people have opinions. The trees are much wider and taller than normal ones, and there are these root-like things that move that are used as something to block the player's path so they have to either find a way to remove it, or go around it. And there are bush-like trees with yellow leaves. Spiraling thorns. Tall, skinny trees with one bough of leaves on top. And more that you should see for yourself! General gameplay facts, and flaws Seasons After Fall has (be warned, this is where spoilers come in, but minor ones mostly): Like I said up top, play as a wild fox with the ability to control the seasons. Now this little. long-tailed and small-pawed fox jumps very high and has a cute, noisy yip to open things or just interact with the world. But the thing is, you do not actually play as the fox. You play as something I call a 'wisp.' And you... well, not harming the fox at all... possess this fox so you can have a body and gain control of the seasons by collecting a magical fragment from each Guardian for a voice without a face, or name. Also, a bad flaw it has is , maybe this is just my keyboard, but from time to time the jump and bark buttons just... don't respond. Or they do respond but a second or two late. Sounds a bit... weird. But if you decide to play this game, you will not regret it. Seasons After Fall is a game that could never be described with words alone. If you do not find a scrap of good and skill in this game... I don't know what to tell you. I'm fine if you hate this game--it does get exhausting and boring sometimes, but I mean, admit that the developers were passionate about it, and took a lot of time to make it. It leaves you with questions that there is a 50-50 chance have answers. Have a great time embarking on this journey with uncountable twists and turns, if you feel it sounds like something you will enjoy.
