A hardcore deductive reasoning game for fans of the “true crime” genre. Only by unraveling the logic and grasping at the motivations behind each case can the crimes be completely solved. Perfect as a social-style mystery fiction.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Set in the near future, you play as a trainee in pursuit of becoming a licensed investigator. Presented with a set of reconstructed case files that border between challenging and perplexing, your goal is to solve them and pass the test. Your only tools are your keen perception, astute thinking and mental acuity. Can you solve them all?
Scene Investigators is a hardcore deductive reasoning game that leans heavily on keen observation, filling in the missing gaps, looking for motives when they aren't seemingly there, and coming up with several plausible assumptions to progress through the investigation.
The game is tailored to fans of detective films, the true crime genre, escape room puzzles and especially for those who love the challenge of solving cases.
You are to observe each scene carefully and analyze everything on site. There is no handholding or hints. Take notes on anything that stands out and write down your suspicions as you navigate through the crime scene.
Piece everything together, not only to understand what happened but also the connection between the perpetrators and their victims. Your only tools are your keen perception, mental sharpness, and real-life wisdom.
You may find that some evidence is missing, limiting you from making the best conclusion. There might be 70% of the evidence in the case, but the other 30% is nowhere to be found. This is where you have to fill in the missing gaps, trust your gut-feelings and make smart, calculated assumptions.
Notice the pink lipstick on the wine glass? What about the trajectory of the bullet on the wall? How about the faint size-12 boot marks on the windowsill? These are part of the environmental clues that can help piece the story together.
It’s more fun to solve when you have someone to discuss your findings with - a friend, a significant other, or even the whole family! Scene Investigators is perfect for this and it is our hope that you can enjoy this game with others. They might spot something you missed in your investigation, and vice versa.

A Note for The Painscreek Killings Fans...
In terms of gameplay, Scene Investigators is quite a departure from our first game, The Painscreek Killings. TPK focuses heavily on the story and uses a rather simple 'breadcrumb' system for its gameplay, one that allows players to continue their investigation whenever they pick up a clue. Scene Investigators, on the other hand, leans heavily on keen observation, filling in the missing gaps, looking for motives when they aren't there, and coming up with a number of possible assumptions in order to solve the case.
In short, The Painscreek Killings is a story-rich game while Scene Investigators is a deduction reasoning game.

Reviews
In both this game as well as their previous one, the art and 3D environment is the best aspect with the writing lagging behind. In this game though, the art got better while the writing got worse. Pros: Prop placement. The props in this game as well as their previous one always lent a lot to the scene. They do good art. Cons: There are several categories here. For a game that takes place in American locations, by a team located in the US, they use a surprising number of non-American things. For instance, notes measuring
baby formula
in milliliters and a receipt in NYC having an entry for VAT (value added tax), which isn't used in the US. Some of the clues give me the feeling of cosplay. For example, not realizing that brass from a firearm ejects in one direction or the tone of a police chief. In fact, the whole Bloodbath case seems to be written by someone whose only exposure was Hollywood. And for a narrative game, it has a number of basic typos and grammar errors that shouldn't exist a few years after release. For their next game, I hope they keep doing well in the art department, and deliberately spend more effort on the writing and editing. There should be a consistent tone across the game and even if typos make it through, glaring clue errors should not. And if they incorporate someplace with a lot of procedure, like a police station, maybe they need someone with experience taking a second look.

absolute masterpiece, wish it had more crime scenes.
gud
Great game to take with patience and make your brain work, put your experience of binging the whole CSI TV Series saga to practice. But be patient, chill, and most importantly: TAKE NOTES, notes will save your life in this game. Make assumptions and go with your instincts. You have to create a bridge between what's in front of you and what the devs and designers wants you to see through their vision. Not easy, but yet again, such is the nature of this puzzle. Like in the Hannibal series. Great investigations game.
Gostei bastante.
