About
We're still waiting for Valve to officially verify Scarlet Deer Inn, but we designed the game to work well on it.
ABOUT
Scarlet Deer Inn is an embroidered dark medieval folk tale. While life in a seemingly ordinary village is all about simple chores and idle gossip, sinister secrets hide below.

Beautiful hand-painted backgrounds and traditional animations crafted from physically embroidered frames.
A world filled with colourful characters.
Hidden shortcuts in the dark that make each playthrough easier.
Folk music inspired by the Middle Ages and performed on traditional instruments.
THE STORY
Elise is a mother of two. She is not exactly extraordinary, and there are no heroic epics written about her.
Her circumstances will force her to explore unusual places and face dark, terrifying situations.
THE TEAM
Attu Games is a husband-and-wife team from the Czech Republic. During the development of Scarlet Deer Inn, their duo expanded into a trio with the birth of their baby, bringing a whole new level of chaos to the process.

Reviews
Gameplay is mostly a puzzle solving platform scroller. But that doesn't take away from it, adventure and the building of stress because of the story makes it amazing. I felt like I was in such a hurry to make it through the caves, and other games like hollow knight don't really have the sense of urgency. And, of course, it's worth buying simply because of the love they put into the game. Doing something like this in 2026 is so amazing, and I think it should be bought even if you never play it, simply because it's an incredible project and they should be rewarded for it. Honestly, even buying one embroidered cloth of any type would cost more than this game does.
I think I saw this demo during one of Steam's Demo highlights. I adore anything that is unique; either story or animation wise. I played the demo and then couldn't wait until it came out. It is undeniably quaint and unique, creating an atmosphere that feels intimate and storybook-like. The attention to detail in the stitching makes the world feel tactile and incredibly endearing. The audio design doesn't just play in the background; it feels like part of the tapestry, guiding your emotions as you navigate the story and town, especially in the chase scenes. As an adventure, Scarlet Deer Inn is not difficult. It is accessible and relaxing, allowing players to focus on the story and the world rather than overcoming steep challenges. Scarlet Deer Inn is a gem for anyone who appreciates artistic innovation and cozy storytelling. I hope they continue making games, and while some may criticize it, I hope the developers see that those people are simply not their audience, and there are many of us who hope this is a start of more to come! Recommended for: Fans of art games, folklore stories, and players looking for a relaxing, bite-sized adventure. Not recommended for: Those seeking deep mechanical challenges or a lengthy epic.

A cute little game with a great sense of identity. The embroidered character designs are lovely, the music is killer when it comes in for certain sections and the story was propulsive and dark. There is no map, no quest markers, and the save points can be infrequent and frustrating for some sections but it all adds to the charm and character for me. The gameplay is serviceable 2D platforming and exploration. The feel of controlling the character can sometimes be a little immersion breaking. I ran into a few bugs but nothing showstopping. And the game is short. You can probably do everything in 3-5 hours. But ultimately I recommend it for the style, the music and the wonderful atmosphere.
A very short but extremely compelling game! As an embroidery and history enthusiast I picked it up immediately. Elise, the main character, is awesome and refreshing as a mother who is doing her best. The chase sequences were some of my favorites.
This was an interesting little adventure with a unique style of embroidery visuals. Music was decent, atmosphere was pretty cool, little bit of horror elements, however my only real criticism is too many chase sequences. Otherwise, a cool little adventure of a mother out to save her children.
I really enjoyed this game! It gives me the same vibe as Pentiment, but with a focus on platforming rather than dialogue options. The visuals and music are beautiful. The only part I'm a -little- disappointed about is that the ending feels a little abrupt, but I know it takes a lot of time (and money, or time not making money) to create a game. It's by no means a deal breaker; I recommend this one for sure! (Also, Elise, the protagonist, is the coolest.)
Velmi zajímavý originální formát, vyšívaná hra mě opravdu bavila. Cením zápletku. Chytrá, složitá, zábavná, s českou kulturní stopou. , A co si budem - soundtrack od Sukuby? On my Spotify this week ❤️ Moc doporučuji a tajně doufám ve Scarlet Deer Inn 2!
Příjemná hra na klidný večer.
I really enjoyed this game, even though it is pretty short (about 4 hours). The visuals and music created a stunning atmosphere. In terms of gameplay it's nothing special, just a good working platformer with some puzzles. The game is supposed to be based on slavic folklore, which I'm not familiar with. I would have liked a few more details here. I think it would have been cool if the game included a short glossary listing the creatures and myths you encounter in the game. I'm also curious, what the lyrics in the soundtrack are about. I hope the developers will add something here later on.
Doporučuji nádherná hra.
