I have anticipated this game for years…. I was thrilled about the play, the style and the story. I bought it the moment it came out on SteamVR. In no way is it a disappointment. I found out from the developer that the Steam launch was an earlier build. Even so… I love the game. You get to be a samurai! It has a pretty straight forward combat system, and you won’t be disappointed. Even in the released state (a pre-launch build) it is awesome. Going up against four attackers is mind-blowing and not easy… but it is wild and once the proper build is pushed out, it will be as close to perfect as possible. Don’t hesitate - buy the game!
Still very early access in terms of physics interactions and combat feel. The sword mechanics feel very off and it is held at a weird angle on index controllers. I would highly recommend you hold off on this game until the physics and enemies are reworked. At the moment the base sword game play just doesn't cut it for the cost of the game especially when compared to other physics based sword fighters (Hell split arena, Blade and Sorcery, Legendary Tales, etc). EDIT: 4 months since the release and no real updates in sight. I would highly recommend you skip this for another year or two and it might be closer to a release.

I dont review a lot of games. This one is fun! I started after the correct build was uploaded, and have only played a little bit so far, but I enjoyed what I have played so far immensely. Maybe its that I immediately started out running around killing things to the awesome soundtrack, which at this point is my favorite part of the game.
I dont want to give this a negative review because potential looks awesome, love the art style that feels really cool while in VR, so i will just say beta experience. Sadly, couldnt really get past the tutorial, trying to hold weapons my arms were getting super janky and spinning the weapons 360. Katana was always holding backwards so couldnt unsheathe the right direction also causing my arms to go crazy. Also couldnt quite seem to figure out how to throw the shuriken good without it kinda just going plop lol, but maybe thats just my own user error. Some of these issues could have been user error on me but from playing games such as Legendary Tales and Asgard's Wrath the jank was most certainly felt. I look forward to future updates though as i did purchase in Beta and will be continuously checking back in
Game is abandoned or at the very least seemingly abandoned. The state it is in is pretty bad, DO NOT BUY
Please note that the developer uploaded a very old build by mistake on the first day. The current reviewed (mixed) doesn't reflect the most updated build, which is available now. This game is awesome. It's a pity I got motion sickness, or I could play for hours!
As others have said, the dev screwed up by releasing a year-old build instead of the current one, so several negative day 1 reviews do not accurately reflect the quality of the game. Seeing as everything was a mistake, and the finished game (in my opinion) is actually very well put together and well optimized, I can only hope those reviews get amended. The art style is the strongest aspect, but the actual gameplay/swordplay isnt too shabby either. There is a wee bit of jank here and there, such as unsheathing your katana can sometimes be more trouble than it should be, swinging your blade 2 handed doesnt always connect with where it should, and the environments, while very pretty in a Chinese ink style much like the scrolls they make as artwork, are really quite empty-feeling. Too much space to navigate without anything to interact with. You have a demon on your shoulder that you physically throw to access the options which is kinda fresh and quirky. I see some influence here from Animes such as Ninja Scroll with the whole protect the village narrative, but also Kill Bill with the art style, music, and over-the-top slicing of enemies into little bits. Give it some time, and this could really be something.

Great sound-track, really like the art-style. Response/controls work very well. Its $20 dollars - Its worth it and as we have already improvements are rolling in pretty quick to address initial release.
