[b] Samsara Room. [/b] I think this is a great entry point to the works of the Rusty Lake studio. It’s free, short in length, and the puzzles aren’t too difficult. It’s surreal, bizarre, and strangely unsettling. [spoiler] You turn into a caterpillar and crawl into a dead man’s mouth. [/spoiler] [spoiler] You cut open the moon with a knife, and it turns into a giant eyeball. [/spoiler] Although the story is quite obscure and hard to fully understand, it’s genuinely very fun—even if you don’t fully get it. It feels like a dream. Just like its title suggests, samsara: [u]a cycle of rebirth, where you transform between human and animal forms again and again.[/u]

Samsara consists of a Cube shaped Room from which you must Escape, apparently. Samsara room is a remaster/rerelease of Rusty Lake's first game, with new puzzles and lore to tie it into the Cube Escape/Rusty Lake universe, very short but free, good good good,. [strike]One of the big problems I have with Samsara Room is the same one I had with The White Door, being that to get all the content in the game (Specifically a secret ending and two achievements) you HAVE to look it up, you cannot get the information you need solely from content within the game.[/strike] Edit: Apparently there is a way to get these symbols without looking it up, involving a weird mechanic you are highly unlikely to have discovered during normal gameplay:[spoiler]Closing window shutters after completing the worm room lets you see symbols[/spoiler]

Samsara Room is a free point and click puzzle game from Rusty Lake. You wake up inside a strange room with no idea how you got there, and you have to search for objects, solve puzzles and figure out how to escape. The atmosphere is probably the best part of Samsara Room. Everything feels strange and unsettling without needing to rely on jumpscares. The unusual rooms, creepy sounds and strange characters make you want to keep looking around to find out what is going on. The puzzles are also really good. You have to search the rooms carefully and work out how different objects connect together. Some solutions are fairly obvious, while others make you stop and think for a while. The game has several different rooms and each one has its own puzzles. As you progress, the environment starts changing in strange ways, which makes the game feel more interesting than a normal escape room game. The art style is another thing I really like. It has that classic Rusty Lake look with strange characters and dark colours. It can look simple at first, but there are lots of little details that make the world feel creepy. The biggest problem is that the game is quite short. You can finish it in a couple of hours, and once you know the puzzle solutions there is not much reason to play it again. Some of the puzzles can also be confusing. The game does not always make it obvious what you are supposed to do, so you might end up clicking around the room until you find something useful. Overall, Samsara Room is a really good free puzzle game with a creepy atmosphere and some clever puzzles. It is short, but it does a good job of creating a strange world that makes you want to keep exploring. Rating: 7.9/10
