This game is hilarious. Finished it in 22 hours, definitely not one to be taken seriously at all. Just pure fun. I played this on the PS3 a very long time ago, and replaying the original Steam version feels exactly how I remembered it back then. [h3]Story, gameplay and music[/h3] Story is too cheesy and doesn't make any sense. It's why I didn't take the game seriously at all. I played the whole game with the zombie voiceover and it was way too funny. I would've skipped the cutscenes if I played it normally, but this voiceover actually made me watch the cutscenes. The music in this game is pretty good and the Kanye opening music was so good. Combat and weapons were pretty satisfying, and emotes and the stunts you can pull whilst getting into a car or dealing with enemies is so nice to watch. [h3]Good replay-ability.[/h3] It's still linear so you will find yourself bored once you complete all of those activities. [list] [*]There's a co-op mode so you can play with a friend. [*]"Whored Mode" - basically waves of enemies with various weapons and vehicles. It was a little boring. [*]Collectibles scattered throughout the city [*]You can own properties across Steelport and increase your hourly income. [*]Defeat opposing gangs in Steelport to claim more territory in the city. [/list] [h3]Performance[/h3] Not bad, but I was expecting better. [list] [*]In my 22 hours the game has crashed 2 times in the middle of a mission. [*]Mainly played on Steam Deck at 60FPS with on highest settings except the ones that require DX10+. FPS would drop occasionally when too many NPCs and explosions are going on. [*]On my PC it would cap itself to 120FPS. Sometimes it drops down to the 100s in 4K max settings. [/list] [h3]Some bugs and annoyances.[/h3] All of which I reckon is probably fixed in the remaster. [list] [*]I noticed a few enemies stuck in a T-pose. [*]Your player enters a vehicle slowly whilst being shot at. [*]The game constantly overrides your GPS waypoint if you're in a mission (making trips to the gun store a little annoying) [*]Your player will grab someone when trying to get into a car, or will get into a car when you're trying to grab someone. It rarely gets it right. [/list] Overall, 7/10 recommend if you're looking for a single-player game to mess about in and kill time.
