Lovely game, great execution on the concept, and an active & responsive dev who clearly has a passion for this! I have seen a number of cool mechanics added & performance improvements in my time playing so far. It is a realistic age of sail trading simulator which also lets you freely customize the sail layout of your choice of boat. That's all I needed to know before buying!! I don't know of any equivalent game which does as good a job with sailing & sail handling mechanics, boat choice & customization, and navigation & weather all at the same time. I actually learned celestial navigation as a result of this game! $20 might not get you a sailboat but it will get you Sailwind!!! It's worth it!
One of the most immersive games i have played in a while. It's the railroader of sailing. I never really understood sailing, but the game just plopped me into the world with a boat and through struggling and finding out what works i understand it, and that is very rewarding.

Peak sailing game with its own little world in it, survival mechanics are good as they keep you busy during voyages. More npc ships would be good, as well as a galleon pretty please. Also exploration like more uncharted/uninhabited islands would be nice, as the little bit of treasure you can find is very nice.
игра норм на первых минутах перепутал остров и матерясь борясь с ветром пытался развернуться, потом во время шторма потерял кружку и начал тонуть. вывод: 100 из 10 потерянных кружек
An excellent simulation of sailing, both the good and the bad. Visually great on the boats and water, and I have hopes for the ports as development continues. Worth it for anyone with an interest in sailing.
Кайф
Yes, slow paced, unforgiving combined with the frustrations of getting stuck with bad winds for hours is to be expected.
Janky but cool and one of a kind. First of all, this game is very interesting in it's design, in that it has minimal controls, and on the surface it seems like not much is going on here, but the depth lies not in UI and controls, but in items, locations, shipyard, etc. Because of that, the game feels really realistic, you have to sail somewhere to unlock a new mechanics, a lot of stuff is very "diagetic", i.e. the map is an item you hold in your hands, etc. You can also customize your ships, which is very cool, but the game severely lacks some kind of "sandbox" mode or something, it's easy to do something, but very hard to measure whether it's good or not. This game can get frustrating, some of it is just glitches, but some of it is just "fight against nature", but the experience is very interesting and laid back. Do note that this game takes a lot of time, and is "more about the journey than the desination".
Loving the game. Would be awesome to play together with a friend as the 3rd tier boat is getting to be a bit much to handle solo
An excellent little sailing game with more depth than you might realize at first. Perfect for anyone looking for a sea merchant type of playstyle where you go on long voyages across open seas, relying on celestial navigation and primitive tools to find your way. Or you can take shorter trade routes and hop between islands visible on the horizon. There are many boats that you can work up to, each with their own advantages & disadvantages, and you can customize them quite a bit in each major port's shipyard. The game is still in early access, so it does feel lacking in polish at times but the gameplay loop is already there and I think it'll be very fun for anyone understanding enough to give it a chance.
