The phrase "explore the galaxy" is punching way out of its weight class, but if you better understand what the game is actually about, you may find enjoyment here. This is a very simple, single screen, base building game with minions doing the logistical work while you direct them. The goal is to balance expansion towards monoliths with building defenses while you work against the ever shortening attack wave clock. You eventually lose. That's it. For the price tag, it is fair to expect the game to have more content. This feels like a mobile game with the familiar pattern of starting off way too slowly and ending way too frenetically. If you are hoping to explore space, engage in anything but the minimal definition of "tower defense" or find challenges beyond filling the meters at the 4 monoliths quickly and surviving to an arbitrary wave number, you will be disappointed. For what the game is on its own merits, my major complaint is the inadequate way minion tasks are handled: They will double up on the same task, only to stop and turn around when another minion got there first, wasting time. They will happily spread out their work, for example a minion on food service might distribute 1 unit of food to 2 different quarters instead of both to one, causing more wasted time instead of getting you a new minion. The inability to direct them is a design choice, but one I can only respect if the minions showed the slightest bit of intelligence in their decision making. You can assign one room as a priority for building, but that's the only real control you get over their behavior. Minor complaints include poor sprite z-indexing, building a loop of hallways only allowing construction from one side (50% chance of it being the most inconveniently long path), and a build-cancel-new-piece exploit. There also seems to be a bug where pausing the game does not appear to pause the game clock, causing you to fail the 45 minute challenge for no good reason. I found some fun here before these annoyances outweighed the enjoyment, and the lack of there being anything else to the game at all means I probably won't play it again.
