It's not bad if you enjoy older MMOS But the popups are insane! "Warning, your computer memory usage has exceeded a healthy level" PC was only at 11% memory usage at the time, not sure why that's in the game.
70 euros de DLC pour un jeu qui a 17 ans ? Hahahaha !!!!

Runes of Magic is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Runewaker Entertainment and published by Gameforge 4D GmbH that represents a fascinating snapshot of the online role-playing genre during its most competitive years. Set in the fantasy world of Taborea, the game combines large-scale exploration, extensive questing, character customization, dungeon progression, and community-driven activities into a traditional MMORPG package that still manages to retain its own identity. Although many newer online games have emerged since its original release, Runes of Magic continues to attract players through its depth, flexibility, and old-school approach to online adventure. The world of Taborea serves as the foundation for everything the game offers. Spread across multiple continents and regions, the setting is filled with forests, deserts, ancient kingdoms, forgotten ruins, and dangerous wilderness areas. Exploration plays an important role throughout the experience, as players gradually uncover new locations, discover hidden stories, and encounter increasingly dangerous enemies. The world feels expansive and designed for long-term adventure, rewarding those who enjoy taking their time to explore rather than rushing through content. One of the game's most distinctive features is its dual-class system. Unlike many MMORPGs that lock players into a single class choice, Runes of Magic allows characters to combine two separate classes. This mechanic dramatically expands character customization and creates a wide variety of possible playstyles. Players can mix offensive, defensive, magical, and support roles to create unique combinations that suit their preferred approach to combat. The system encourages experimentation and remains one of the game's most innovative features even years after its introduction. Character progression extends well beyond leveling. Equipment upgrades, elite skills, runes, pets, and various enhancement systems provide long-term goals that keep players invested. The process of improving a character feels rewarding because advancement is tied to multiple interconnected systems. Whether focusing on acquiring better gear, refining abilities, or optimizing class combinations, players always have meaningful objectives to pursue. Questing forms a major part of the adventure. The game contains an enormous amount of quest content spread throughout its many zones. These missions help guide players through the world while introducing important characters, conflicts, and lore. While some quests follow familiar MMORPG structures, the sheer volume of available content ensures that players have countless opportunities to advance their characters while learning more about the world around them. Combat follows the traditional tab-targeting style that defined many MMORPGs of its era. Battles emphasize ability management, positioning, and class synergy rather than fast-paced action mechanics. While modern players may find the system less dynamic than contemporary action MMORPGs, it remains effective and supports the strategic depth created by the dual-class system. As players unlock more abilities and develop stronger builds, combat becomes increasingly engaging. Group content is where many of the game's strengths become most apparent. Dungeons and raids challenge players to cooperate, coordinate abilities, and overcome powerful enemies in pursuit of valuable rewards. These encounters provide some of the most memorable moments in the game, particularly when experienced with an organized group. Successfully defeating difficult bosses often requires preparation, teamwork, and a solid understanding of character roles, creating a strong sense of accomplishment. The social systems contribute significantly to the game's longevity. Guilds play a major role in the community, offering opportunities for cooperation, progression, and large-scale activities. Guild castles and siege warfare provide additional objectives beyond character advancement, encouraging players to participate in organized community events. These systems help create a living online world where interaction with other players remains meaningful. Housing is another feature that adds depth to the overall experience. Every player can obtain and customize a personal residence, creating a space that reflects their achievements and preferences. Housing is more than a cosmetic addition, offering practical benefits and giving players a stronger connection to the world. This feature helps distinguish Runes of Magic from many MMORPGs that focus exclusively on combat and progression. The game also includes numerous side activities that enrich the overall experience. Crafting, pets, collectible monster cards, resource gathering, and various community-oriented systems provide alternatives to traditional leveling. These features help diversify gameplay and ensure that players are not limited to a single progression path. The variety of available activities contributes to the feeling that Taborea is a complete world rather than merely a sequence of quests and battles. Visually, Runes of Magic clearly reflects its age. Character models, animations, and environmental details originate from an earlier generation of MMORPG design. However, the colorful fantasy aesthetic retains a certain charm, particularly for players who appreciate classic online role-playing games. The art style succeeds in creating a welcoming atmosphere despite technical limitations. The game's age also introduces some challenges. Certain systems can feel outdated by modern standards, and some aspects of progression may require patience that newer players are not accustomed to. The free-to-play structure and monetization systems have also been points of discussion within the community over the years. Nevertheless, players willing to embrace the game's older design philosophy will discover a surprisingly deep and content-rich experience. What ultimately makes Runes of Magic memorable is the freedom it gives players to develop their characters and engage with the world. The dual-class system, extensive questing, housing mechanics, guild activities, and vast amount of content create an MMORPG that prioritizes customization and long-term progression. It may not possess the technical sophistication of newer titles, but it compensates with depth, variety, and a strong sense of adventure. Rating: 7/10
