RUBATO, an experimental, 2D physics-based take on the collect-a-thon genre!
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 17 → 1.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

The year is 12,012. Multiquadrillionaire monopoly "GSSAI CO." has been in power of the universe for centuries after a world-ending bioweapon was unleashed onto the masses. And now? The solar system has been destroyed by unknown celestial forces. A weapons development program run by the Earth subsidiary of "GSSAI CO." is fast progressing. And the world's denizens are disappearing.
That is until one man screws up a game of pool.
Use your tongue to lick enemies and objects as you make your way through open metroidvania-like areas, whilst collecting "Planet Bits" to help fix the solar system!
5 compact, densely packed areas ranging from a huge sprawling bakery to the world's most poorly planned city. Uncover secrets and shortcuts in every corner of the world.
A strange, funny plot with a deep focus on humour and character writing. It gets silly. It gets serious. Really concerningly serious. Uh. Is the guy who made this game okay..?
To save the world, you must save yourself first. Find yourself again.

I had this game on my wishlist for a while, but when I heard that it referenced Betterified VI: Bestified (one of my favourite games ever) I knew I had to get it, and I'm very glad that I did. The main appeal of this game is just how much is packed into it. In its 4 "regular" levels this game manages to put tons of secrets and collectibles everywhere, encouraging you to mess around and explore. The subareas are also all really fun gimmicks. It also all feels very intuitive - if something feels like it might have a secret interaction, it most likely does. It's wasn't particularly "challenging" but it's extremely fun (and there is a bonus area which scratches that difficulty itch if you want more out of the game)! Like the aforementioned Betterified, this game is pretty crazy when it comes to the variety of tones, artstyles and even gameplay at times. It's can go from EXTREMELY hilarious to sad to even creepy at times. The characters are all also really fun and varied and the story was surprisingly engaging. No spoilers, but the ending was really powerful and felt so earned, I was really moved by it. The soundtrack is also incredible, really catchy even on loop (some levels are really long so this is a plus). This game is probably my personal 2026 GOTY. PLEASE play it! You won't regret it.

Одна из самых смешных и интересных игр в которые я играл. Хьюго вообще лютый приколист, всю игру с него ржал.
"RUBATO, an experimental, 2D physics-based take on the collect-a-thon genre." I love RUBATO so much, and I recommend it to anyone who loves the collect-a-thon genre!! It's comedic at so many points, and it genuinely had me amazed by the sheer effort put into this awesome game. Seriously. This game has me a choke-hold over how much I laughed. Owch!
