"Same encounter, different world." Moon is a young woman who lives an ordinary city life as an office worker. However, because she suffers from depression, she reacts and deals with things in a way that is very different from regular city folk.

this game shows someone living with depression really well, but it put me off when they started implying that religion cures depression

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I played through the whole game and it was boring. I know it's meant to reflect a person with depression, but it's all surface level and generic. The whole religious section was so weirdly inserted that it made me feel uncomfortable. I understand people sometimes turn to faith, but I think it was implemented badly here.
"Sometimes, just being alive is incredible enough." As a psychologist, I think that this game did a great job depicting depression and some of it's experiences, and could potentially aid someone into understanding better their relatives that might suffer from such.
Ps. god isn't going to "fix" you
I have no issues with this game implying that religion cures depression or whatever other reviews talk about. I just think that this is a rather gentle and soft approach to the question of depression. It doesn't have to be another Omori, but a more extreme and rough approach would help exploring depression as a deep and disturbing experience. Room of Depression makes you think that depression is just a weird mental state that turns your life clumsy and weird. I also dislike how direct it addresses depression. It is literally a number of mini-games and messages telling you that depression can be hard and sometimes you can't sleep and think clearly. I think it lacks elegance some other similar games have. Considering all that, it's not a bad game per se, but it's definitely not worth six dollars.
