i love it
very fun wish had mods or related games
A somewhat satirical turn-based political simulation where you are in charge a fictional country in the Middle East, and attempt to stabilize it in the aftermath of violent unrest. Not a lot of depth, but if you're looking for a decent indie game to grab on sale, you won't go wrong with Rogue State.

Amazing game, accuracy is great.
Personalmente lo preferisco a quello uscito nel 2021, molto bello siccome lo puoi rigiocare molte volte. Abbastanza complicato all'inizio, le crisi del terzo anno ti distruggono
Rogue State, developed and published by LRDGames, Inc., is a complex geopolitical strategy game that thrusts players into the precarious position of leading a fictional Middle Eastern country in the chaotic aftermath of a revolution. Released in 2015, the game offers a rich blend of political simulation, resource management, and narrative-driven decision-making that challenges players to navigate the delicate balance between maintaining power, fostering national stability, and managing the competing interests of a fractured population. As the newly appointed Head of State of Basenji, players must maneuver through a volatile environment where every choice carries weighty consequences, reflecting the messy realities of post-revolution governance. The gameplay centers around the intricate management of various facets of statecraft, including economic policy, military strength, diplomatic relations, and internal security. Each turn represents a cycle in which players make decisions that affect the country's political and social landscape. The game shines in its ability to simulate the trade-offs inherent in ruling a fragile state: for instance, cracking down on dissent may temporarily secure order but risks alienating influential factions and provoking unrest in the long term. On the other hand, pursuing reforms or liberalization can improve public support but strain limited resources and embolden opposition groups. This ongoing tension forces players to carefully weigh short-term stability against long-term viability, often requiring tough choices that lack clear right answers. One of Rogue State’s most compelling features is its focus on character-driven politics. The game populates the government with a cast of ministers and advisers, each with distinct personalities, loyalties, and agendas. Selecting the right ministers for key roles becomes a critical strategic layer, as their support or dissent can significantly influence the success of policies and the overall stability of the regime. These characters are not static; they react to events, jockey for power, and may even become rivals or potential threats, adding depth and unpredictability to the political landscape. Managing relationships with these figures becomes as important as managing the country itself, offering a nuanced portrayal of the interpersonal dynamics that shape governance. Visually, Rogue State opts for a unique comic book-inspired art style, heavily influenced by the work of Jean "Moebius" Giraud. This stylistic choice lends the game a distinct atmosphere, blending serious political themes with evocative, stylized imagery. While the graphics are not focused on realism or cutting-edge visuals, they effectively convey the mood and tone of the narrative, enriching the player’s immersion. The user interface complements this with clear, intuitive menus and information panels, making it easier for players to navigate complex systems without becoming overwhelmed by data or micromanagement. Despite its strengths in design and depth, Rogue State has received mixed reactions regarding accessibility and pacing. The game’s steep learning curve can be a barrier for newcomers, with minimal in-game tutorials and a sometimes opaque system of cause-and-effect relationships requiring patience and experimentation to master. Additionally, the pacing can feel slow, as certain decisions take time to manifest consequences, which may frustrate players who prefer more immediate feedback or faster gameplay loops. However, those willing to invest time often find that the game’s replayability and emergent storytelling offer rich rewards, with randomized events and shifting political alliances ensuring that no two playthroughs feel the same. In summary, Rogue State offers a deep and engaging simulation of political leadership in a fractured, post-revolutionary setting. It stands out through its blend of strategic management, character-driven narratives, and morally complex decision-making, providing an experience that challenges players to think critically about power, loyalty, and governance. While it may not cater to those seeking fast-paced or visually flashy games, it presents a rewarding challenge for strategy enthusiasts and players fascinated by the nuances of political intrigue and nation-building in turbulent times. Rating: 7/10
Fun little strategy game
