RoboCop: Rogue City

Couldn't finish, even with sunk cost fallacy in full swing. It's just a boring, boring game that occasionally fools you into thinking there's some fun to be had when you're doing some cool Robo-stuff. Complaints include: braindead story, terrible voice acting, even worse animation (especially of the facial variety.) Bland, one-note combat, with many poorly designed encounters that often just boil down to shooting galleries. Poor enemy variety, and difficulty scaling that just relies on throwing huge numbers of goons at you all at once to chunk your health down (Get the shield perk early if you plan to play on hard.) Also, Robo moves like a tank, as you'd expect, but you'll constantly get stuck on random geometry and floor clutter in the middle of combat, which causes these huge, gankfest, shooting gallery encounters to be more frustrating than challenging. Terrible pacing with mind numbingly boring semi-open world/freeform moments between main missions just make this game a chore that pads out gametime artificially. Uninspired and utterly boring side missions make the pursuit of exp feel like torture; I gave up on them in the end as it just wasn't worth the extra exp. Also runs pretty poorly at times, made worse by a pretty off feeling mouselook that makes framerate seem worse than it is. Some areas ran over 100fps on my rig with some optimised settings I found on a popular R*ddit post, with some areas randomly dropping below 60 without any real indication as to why (with low CPU utilisation, and low vram usage despite the drops). Any good reviews you see are from people who must have ZERO taste and respect of their own time, so please spare yourself if you happen to read this review. Worst game I've played in a good minute, despite really wanting to enjoy this, and giving it as fair a shake as I could bare.

This is not a bad game by any means, its true to the source material and Robocop fans will get some fan service here. However the overall dull gameplay will bite in as the action and dialogue is slow & plodding and is overall quite a repetitive experience. The game just doesn't have enough ambition to stand up to the stiff competition on offer in other titles.

ça me fait mal de mettre un négatif car le jeu est très cool J'ai la platine de ce jeu sur PS5, le gros souci de cette version Steam c'est qu'il n'est pas du tout optimisé, le PC souffre, rame & surchauffe, j'ai des jeux bien plus gourmands que Robocop qui n'ont aucun souci Le seul reproche en dehors de l'optimisation serait les dialogues qui s'éternisent et tournent en rond pour rien, le jeu est sympa à faire mais privilégiez un autre support que Steam

Great game if it wasn't for the op bosses.

Very good game. I grew up in the 80's and Robocop was one of my favorite hero. Dev did a great job capturing many themes from that decade. NPC's appearance is okay but has good voice acting. So far the game is enjoyable without any glitches. I was hoping we can drive around the city and have more dynamic weathers but it is what it is. Recommending this title to anyone interested. On sale now for $3.99; what a deal!
