Retro Rewind - Video Store Simulator

Came in to run a video store, somehow lost 14 hours of my life. Surprisingly addictive for a game where half my job is putting movies on shelves and taking people’s money. Super chill, weirdly satisfying, and perfect for when you want to switch your brain off. 10/10, I now have retail experience.

I really hate those customers that don't rewind... it still annoys me even virtual video tapes.

Первые несколько игровых дней было интересно, потом всё скатывается в рутину. Я ещё застал те времена, когда о цифровом рынке мало слышали, а диски (в том числе пиратские) приходилось покупать. На Западе, видимо, ситуация обстояла иначе, потому что атмосфера игры не соответствует действительности. Если вы надеетесь поймать привкус ностальгии, то проходите мимо. Здесь чересчур много свободного пространства, в то время как в настоящих магазинах оно преимущественно заставлено полками- места мало, но глазу есть за что зацепиться. Музыкальное сопровождение успело наскучить. Ещё тут зачем-то добавили барыгу с фильмами определённого содержания, правда, спросом эти фильмы пользовались от силы 3-4 дня. Даже после открытия всего инструментария в залах царит откровенное запустение относительно их масштабов, если не считать частых посетителей. И всё-таки ставлю игре "лайк". Она яркая, медитативная, может убить несколько вечеров. Интересно проводить дни ивента, когда меняется окружение, один раз даже ночью салют прогремел, это было волшебно. В пятницу 13 люди в масках Джексона спавнятся в магазине. Впервые я заметил их, когда они стояли снаружи магазина и через витрину пялились на меня. Признаться, на секунду-две это даже показалось жутким. В целом, рекомендую игру как убивалку времени, но не как возможность вдохнуть того воздуха с ароматом пластика от коробки с DVD диском или видеокассетой.

Satisfying shop management that hits right in the nostalgia. Running the cash register is very satisfying. And making snacks. Makes me yearn for a local video store with snacks. I am a cash register goblin.

As someone who grew up in the 80s, this little game has fulfilled a little dream I had way back then, and forgot until now. There was always something magical about the local video store, its cardboard standees, the popcorn machine, the different kind of drinks, the kitschyness...and now I get to be in control of all that? OH YEAH! I honestly can't wait for updates. It' s chill and it's fun. 10/10!

90年代初頭のレンタルビデオ店を経営し、映画の仕入れや陳列、レンタル業務をこなしながら、自分好みのお店へと育てていく経営シミュレーター。 何より素晴らしいのが、小さい頃に利用していたレンタルビデオ屋を思い出してしまう雰囲気の良さ。所狭しと並んだビデオのパッケージや映画ポスターを眺めながら店内を歩いているだけでも妙に懐かしく、あの頃の「今日は何を借りよう」と棚を眺めていた時間まで蘇ってくる。 ゲームとしてやっていること自体はかなり単純。新しいビデオを仕入れて棚に並べ、客に貸し出し、稼いだお金で棚を増やして店を拡張する。その繰り返しなのだが、これが驚くほど心地よく、気付けば時間を忘れて延々と店を弄ってしまう。 最初は小さかった店に棚が増え、壁にはポスターが並び、扱える映画のジャンルも少しずつ充実していく。ただ数字が大きくなっていくだけではなく、「間違いなく自分好みのレンタルビデオ屋になってきた」という実感を持てるのが楽しい。 特に好きなのが、新しい映画を仕入れる瞬間。新商品が追加されるたびに「これも置きたい」「このジャンルの棚を作りたい」と収集欲を刺激され、買い集めたビデオを綺麗に陳列して眺めているだけでも満足感がある。もはや経営効率そっちのけで棚を整理している時間すら楽しい。 季節イベントや新作映画の発売日といった予定をカレンダーで確認できるのも上手い。繁忙期に備えてどのジャンルを充実させるか、棚を増やすか、店を広げるかといった短期的な目標が自然と生まれるため、単調になりがちな店舗経営に程よいメリハリが付いている。 店が大きくなればスタッフを雇って仕事を任せることもできる。こいつらが時々「なんでそこでそうなるんだよ」と言いたくなる程度にはバカなのだが、一生懸命働いている姿を眺めていると妙に憎めない。効率化のために雇ったはずなのに、気付けば店の一員として愛着が湧いてくるのも面白いところ。 派手な出来事が次々に起こるゲームではない。それでも、ビデオを一本仕入れ、棚を一つ増やし、少しずつ店を大きくしていく。その小さな積み重ねがとにかく気持ちいい。 「自分のレンタルビデオ屋を持つ」という極めて単純な夢を、収集と経営の楽しさを通してこれ以上なく丁寧にゲームへ落とし込んだ作品。こういうゲームは本当に時間が溶ける。

I absolutely love this game! It takes me straight back to being a kid and going to Blockbusters, and that nostalgia alone makes this such an enjoyable experience for me. The graphics are probably one of my favourite things about it. They're bold, vibrant and full of personality, and the whole visual style just works brilliantly for the game. It really captures that retro video store feel without taking itself too seriously. It's also just a genuinely fun and enjoyable game to play. There's something really satisfying about running the store, serving customers, stocking everything and watching it all come together. It's one of those games where you can sit down for a quick play and suddenly realise you've been playing for ages! I'm currently level 15 and can see progression going up to level 24, so I'm really curious to see what happens as I get further into the game. Hopefully there will be plenty more updates and content in the future because I'm definitely going to want more once I get there! I'd also love to see the ability to set our own prices at some point. Being able to decide what to charge for different rentals could add another fun layer to running the store. Overall, this is a really fun, charming and nostalgic game. The art style is fantastic, the gameplay is enjoyable and it brings back some great memories of going into Blockbuster as a kid. I'm having a blast with it and I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes next!

The game is good so far. I have played similar games to this in the past like supermarket simulator. It works in a similar way but I find the movie store vibe nostalgic and even more fun than other simulators I have played in the past. If you used to go into movie stores and or enjoy simulators this one wont let you down.
