Really nice game, I'm eager to explore what it has to offer and experience future content! + Open Source + Reasonable price + Proven, experienced developer
Yes, this game is quite fun. If you are familiar with Europa Universalis 4, then you'll feel right at home, at least as far as the basics are concerned. Its core feature is also its most interesting mechanic: The Rebirth system. Basically it's an infinite New Game +. Campaigns are played out over a couple of hours. You are not going to conquer the entirety of Europe. Maybe just a few tiles from your neighbours. Then, as you and your neighbours advance in technology, develop your economies, and improve your armies, the game is actually getting much harder. Wars lead to stalemates and terrible losses, the costs of keeping up become too high, too much blood has been spilled for diplomacy to work. At any point you desire you can end your run up to that point, and then you immediately restart the game playing with the same province or a different one. But this time, depending on how well you did on your previous runs, you get access to a sort of "skill tree" for your province, granting you bonuses that can get you a bit further ahead than last time. A campaign like that takes between 1-3 hours. Every time your get Reborn, your skill tree is reset (but you keep your skill points from before), so you can try focusing on different bonuses. This makes the game immensely replayable. Other than that, it's UI is functional, its visuals do the job (could use a couple sprites on the map for Great Buildings or province capitals I think), and performance-wise it has been flawless so far. Things that might annoy you in early access (beta patch 0.23): - Most things have tooltips but some don't - Right now there's only 1 playable province, but more are being added soon - The game has certain actions that need to happen periodically, but they have a toggle to let the game perform them automatically (in their respective tabs). However, every time you reload or restart the toggles turn off by default. - It feels like the game needs further balancing. It's perfectly playable, but certain actions can feel too powerful, while others feel useless in comparison. - Certain things (like letting a war go on for too long, or getting too many loans) can really screw you over. There's no warning of that beforehand, unless you actively check the relevant tabs all the time. There's no warning for this beforehand. - There's no music, and sound design is minimal. - It feels like there's still many mechanics and content missing (but the developer seems active enough) OVERALL: Highly recommend, especially at that price!

09.09.2026 Eh , it got nice frame with decent features in it. Needs some fine tuning before would pick it up, if it got updates its easy worth the price. Somethings: Trade window got a box to enable only possible ones, it unchecks itself when close the window. Cant sort the trade deals by resources? Cant see the effect of buildings from the build screen. Cant delete buildings? Like temple only really worth if <4? distance from capital as it costs 1? Closer if your stab is low or wrong culture or religion? But you would really never want to build/have it 3 distance around your capital? Give small buff to evangelize and or to upgrade? Cant sort the build&dev list. -> Like I want to build army camp starting from tiles with highest population. Just look for inspiration from EU4 macro building menu. Stability is bit wierd? You are close to 0 usually , most are timed modifiers that improve it? Interetsing choice but as war tanks your stability should there be a positve feedback loop if dont go to war this year? Loans look bit wierd? The intrest is added the to loan and then you need to pay the whole thing? Save money if you pay it fast? Usually ratio of principal to interest? Or are you tring to simulate "usura centesima” loan system? Maybe could expand bit more on the goods? As you have actions to spend those goods or trade them, like using bread to press button "expand grain dole" Maybe would be nice to have side bar notitication for those? Not sure as there are few of those buttons in game. Seems its alwas good the refine them. Easy to get "stuck" as win the first war then your ally can be too weak as they drop in prestige and you cant really beat one else on your borders? Maybe the devving up is the point at this case etc. Mission & rebirth system are quite interesting , Most likely will be quite fun game when get some polish in :)
Games seems to be pretty fun. An interesting take on 4x strategy and there seems to be plenty of content at the moment already I wish tracking how other provinces are doing in game would be great, something as simple as borders being red between provinces at war. At the moment you have to look for some tiles being colored a little differently and checking how the war is going requires a lot of clicks into a separate diplomacy menu. Maybe total gold lost from increased maintenance? It is just nice to see how AI is fighting other AI within grand strategy, especially during slower moments.
It's not bad, I've been enjoying my time with it so far. That being said, *many* mechanics, from mana to focuses, events etc, seem adapted from Europa Universalis 4. Again, not bad, the game felt so oddly familiar.
Pretty fun actually. Worth the few $. :)
Fun game, looking forward to what the devs and community have in store! I appreciate that even a failed, short run can be rewarding thanks to the incremental nature of the game.
