Fine enough for the price, but way oversold on the store page. First of all, against my better judgment I gave a game with an AI disclosure a chance, and I wish I hadn't. The voices are atrocious and I turned them off after about half an hour. I don't understand why you'd use AI, a thing that will turn a lot of people off, to actively make your game worse, and now I don't trust it's just the voices and translations either. Bugs can be ironed out, which the devs are actually doing, but there sure are a lot of them. The restaurant is pretty much just broken, which is a problem because it's most likely the first place you build and "hire staff" for. Once the resort gets a little busier it's basically just a mess of NPCs clipping into every obstacle, floating on the water and glitching into each other. It can all be fixed, but for now even the bugs that aren't game-breaking are just frustrating. There's no living world. All NPCs are rooted to the spot, and aside from the merchants there's not a lot of them to interact with. There's about a dozen islands to "explore" but most of them are just a small patch with one activity. Most of these activities are not worth doing. You can gamble money on cups and hope you pick the right one. You can gamble money on crates and hope you pick the right one. You can give your money to a banker and hope you get more money instead of less. None of it involves skill, just luck. There's one NPC who gives you a riddle (just the one, not a new one every day) and once you solve it that's done. An NPC offered what amounts to couch cushion change to go kill an important merchant NPC. Obviously not, thanks. You can go hunt the two dozen near-stationary animals but meat is cheaper than bullets so no reason to bother with that. I found two or three actual quests, of the fetch/kill variety. Basically all the islands offer is a commute between minigames that aren't worth doing. There are three clans in the game, but if they offer quests I haven't found them, and I maxed out all my points with them just through playing. That mechanic doesn't seem to offer anything besides that. I suppose you can go around killing them but there's no reason to. They don't do anything. There's a skill tree but not enough skill points to go around, so once you reach the midgame and the end of one of the trees, you now have to spend your points getting skills you do not need anymore to catch up with the skills that are actually useful, which you won't. There's no surprises either. At the start of the game you're told what buildings are available, you'll buy them, "hire" the matching "staff," that's that. And about that, they're not staff you hire. You buy slaves. Which is fine given the setting, but they're never referred to as such, the game seems really squirrely about it, and it's an unpleasant surprise. But you do have to pay them wages. The two things to balance are popularity and money, both of them seem almost impossible to not just naturally accumulate. If you focus on money you'll have whole stretches of game where you're just waiting out the days until popularity is high enough to buy the next tier of buildings. If you focus on resort popularity you'll have no money to do anything. And having to wait around a lot is a problem in a game where there's not really anything to do. You're encouraged to explore but there's nothing to find. You're encouraged to decorate but there's only a handful of objects to place. Bugs can be fixed (and are being fixed) and it's not unplayable, but adjust your expectations.

I really enjoy how many different things this game throws at you. Yes, you’re building an island resort, but you’re also collecting wood & food, fishing, dealing with local pirates, getting told your resort sucks & paddling around in a wooden rowboat. I’m at 4 stars and I still feel like I haven’t properly explored the other islands or seen everything the game has to offer. There are some rough edges too. You have to physically visit every room & loot them constantly. It would be nicer if cleaners (or a dedicated looter) dumped that stuff in a chest near reception. I also ran into a Beverage Crafting bug where the bar stopped filling and I had to restart the whole day, since there was no manual save when I was playing. Item placement in rooms can be finicky too. Some work arounds, hiring a bartender helps with the drink issue & if a room won’t accept decorations, assigning it to the cheaper guests works too lol If you like building, scavenging, fishing, exploring, decorating or simulators in general, I would absolutely recommend this game! The developers mashed alot of these systems together & the mix is more fun than I thought it was going to be!
I had the chance to play the game when it was first released. Calling it a "simulator" would be unfair; it offers a near-open-world experience. It's quite successful for its price. The dialogues could be reviewed; some of them don't feel natural. Good luck!
I am giving this a positive review because I am really enjoying the game and all that it has to offer, so far. Of course, the "so far" does matter because there is still some work to be done. A few notes that I would like to make are that it needs some sort of manual saving mechanic. I've seen this said elsewhere and I will echo that. The game does crash every now and again (a lot of these simulators are notorious for crashing and not being optimized properly). The result of the crash means you have to start the day over again. If you happen to be at the end of the day...then it gets tedious having to go back and do everything again. There are also a few buggy items such as a quest to get a key at the bottom of the ocean...but the key is not there. Some quests are just broken like that and need to be fixed. Again, I AM enjoying the game thus far and hope that more work is put into it to keep having fun.
Nice game that you can finish in a weekend or two. Which I find perfect compared to the grindy ones where you repeat the same action over and over again. It still has room for improvement but overall it's a nice hidden indie gem that anyone who loves management games should try out. It was really a blast seeing how my resort improved step by step and I filled my little island with lots of buildings. I would give it a 8/10 since there are some problems with path finding and some balancing issues but it is highly enjoyable and addictive even in this stage.
There’s so much to do in this game, I’m not sure why they called it a simulator, because it feels more like an RPG to me, with lots of characters, events, quests, and more. one down side, Time passes incredibly quickly, and since you can’t adjust its speed, you’re constantly rushing around. Your character also doesn’t move particularly fast for such a huge map. I genuinely recommend giving it a try!
There's much more to do than i thought there would be. Its one of the better PlayWay Sims i've played. 8/10 Definitely try it if you like this kind of game.
