About
You are a slugcat. The world around you is full of danger, and you must face it – alone. Separated from your family in a devastating flood, you will need to find food and shelter between terrifying torrential downpours which threaten to drown all life. Climb through the ruins of an ancient civilization, evade the jaws of vicious predators, and discover new lands teeming with strange creatures and buried mysteries. Find your family before something makes a meal of you!
Inspired by the simplicity and aesthetics of 16-bit classics, this survival platformer requires clever decision-making, both to catch your own prey and to avoid the jaws of hungry predators. Each ravenous foe in your path will be cunning, vicious and always on the hunt – eager to sink their teeth into you, or even each other. As a small, soft slugcat you must rely on stealth and wit rather than force: learn the ecosystem and turn their strengths to your advantage. Maybe then you can survive… Rain World!

Every market we collect.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Rain World has strange and sluggish movement, no pun intended. Clunky enough to bring QWOP to mind. While the movement apparently has a very high skill ceiling, I think the average player willl probably not appreciate it. The game gives you very little direction. There was no in-world text in the couple weeks or so I played, though I never did find one of those lore pearls. From what I gathered, the gameplay loop is explore until you find a big door (Karma Gate), then eat and hibernate at the nearest shelter repeatedly until you have enough karma to pass through the big door. You are very weak and will die in one hit to most things, and take more than one hit to kill most things. I was often stuck in the same area reliving the same day for multiple days IRL time before I found a new shelter or Karma Gate and made any real progress. In the time I played this game I never got a single achievement. I think maintaining max karma for long enough would get me one, I guess I never quite pulled it off. Meanwhile I have managed to get every single achievement in many other games within a month. If you are looking for a steady sense of progression or something you can beat in a month, definitely steer clear. The visual are very low-contrast and low-res. I'm not really calling the game ugly exactly, but like it's hard to see things on the ground or tell what's in your hand and so on. You pretty much have to rely on outlines and symbols next to stuff or just mash the pick-up button while walking around to find rocks and things. This made me feel crazy at times as I once thought I found a spear, but I couldn't pick it up so I decided it was just a part of the background. Apparently you can't pick up two spears as Survivor. I later used up my spear and came back to that spot and picked up that spear. There was no feedback for this. The game is often opaque and confusing in this way. I think even if you were quick to grasp the movement and such they want you to die a lot and waste a lot of time to figure anything out. I knew this game filtered people going in, so I watched some beginner tips YT videos and such, read the subreddit, tried to put in the extra ounce of effort. I think I had the wrong idea, that this was just a game with hard combat, but even when you aren't getting eaten by lizards and vultures the game is a bit miserable and it's easy to get stuck in the same place for ages. The rain was actually not a huge problem, I think it only got me 2 or 3 times. I don't know if this game has any bosses or what happens when you open all the big doors or how a run ends. I did not play any characters besides Survivor. I did not have the DLC. I might revisit this someday, but for now I need a break. I couldn't even stand to play it for the whole month. The subreddit is full of fanart and lore discussion while I didn't really get any hint of lore from the game. It felt a bit like we weren't even playing the same game. I did a bit of research on gamepad vs keyboard for this game before starting and it sounded like keyboard made certain advanced movement easier, even though the game apparently has analog movement. I ended up playing with a leverless arcade controller, which in this case is basically a keyboard. I thought that worked fine and it was nice having jump/throw/grab on different fingers. Never did figure out what that "special" button does.
