Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.88/day in the week to Jul 21 → 2.8/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

To start, I'm really liking this game. The core game loop is fun and mildly addicting, but it's probably not for everyone. If you're coming to this game looking for a detailed simulation on driving trains, then you might want to look elsewhere. While there is a first person view, and you can manipulate some of the levers and such, the driving sim isn't particularly detailed. Derail Valley, Run 8, or Train Sim World might be more up your alley if that's what you're looking for. This game is really more of a railroad management game. You'll spend most of you're time routing trains to where they need to go, to pick up freight, move passengers, or transfer freight to an interchange for another railroad to pick up. There is progression where you're trying to expand your railroad while trying to manage assets and finances. My biggest complaint is that the game can become quite grindy after awhile. Once you unlock large chunks of the map and open up several industries, it can take literal hours to complete a full day's worth of switching. The game is intentionally slow in this regard, some find this relaxing and fun while others might find it a bit tedious (I fall somewhere in the middle). The game also needs some optimization. Switching between consists while you're switching cars will create stutter and drop you're FPS while the game loads terrain and other assets. There's a lot of information in the game, but it can be somewhat hard to find sometimes.

I think it's safe to say that I like trains. This is about to become my most played Steam game by hour count, which has taken me by surprise. It's early access so it's not because it has some kind of magic sauce.. although it's an awesome game already. The gameplay loop involves some company management, train management, making deliveries and earning money to handle more and tougher contracts. I love the freedom of opting in and out of contracts because some of them are frustrating to micromanage with having multiple spots on the same track to have different drop offs, forcing you to play musical railcars to get them in the right order.. so I just cancel those ones and pick the ones I like. This is also a great game when you're doing remote work, watching videos, or anything where you occasionally take your attention off the trains. The AI system is smart enough to prevent most collisions, so depending on how many contracts you take and how you choose to run your trains (manual/auto), you can customize your playstyle and intensity. This game has lots of options for that and I love having options! I haven't played much multiplayer but I can see it having tons of potential to give a sim feeling, where people dispatch the trains and players make their deliveries. I plan to join in a server that does this soon. But it's also great solo which is what I've done mostly. The game itself runs really smooth, have yet to have a technical issue. I'm not sure if it will stay in full release (hopefully it does) but they have console command cheats which is something I miss having in games overall. Also if you don't like the pace of the campaign, there is sandbox mode. The devs seem really chill and their discord is a good place to be. Lots of good people and you can contribute genuine quality feedback, find modders for more trains or post nice screenshots etc. I highly recommend this game.
I feel like as I am approaching 900 hours, I should probably write a review. Some of those hours were definitely Main Menu, but I have sank many many hours into actual game play. I play Singleplayer. Automatic Engineers run everything. I set the waypoints. Definitely gotta love trains or logistics. Its very easy to keep track of everything if you press tab to turn on the colored tags. played with some mods. It was fun but not necessary, and can be a little tricky. They are working on more integrated mod support. Currently have the wjole map unlocked with 12 steamers shaking freight. Making good pace to pay off the loan. Strategy spoilers: this is what I use but it wont make much different. 2 Y6 Mallets running my Once Daily East-West Freights P-43 Pacific running back and forth all-day with passengers F-71 Santa Fe and B-65 Berkshire running helper service over red marble and switching Nantahala A bunch of smaller locomotives handling switching everywhere else and the Alarka branch including several camelbacks Deep thanks to the Devs for an awesome game. Would love to see more maps in the future or modded maps but no pressure. Take your time on this one :)
This is a review some people might brush off due to me having a very little playtime in this game. It's still a fair read for people that are asking themselves if they want to buy it or not. I personally, found the little time I spent with the game rather tedious. I was on the fence of buying the game, having read some reviews of it and what it entails, saw the very well made mods for it and thought to myself that, I'd give it a shot. In hindsight, I should have listened to the few voices telling potential buyers that this game is more of a logistics game than a train driving game. Something that, when I had read in said reviews, chalked up to be an overexaggeration. They were right however, it really is a big logistics game. And that is something I just don't really enjoy. I'm a driver, not a planner, to put it as plainly as I can. If you're into planing lots of shunting, running freight trains and putting them in order, doing passenger work, while the actual driving aspect takes a backseat, then this is for you. But if you're someone like me, that either wants to do the shunting and then drive off, or just drive off from one place to another, this isn't the game I would recommend. It's a great game, made by people who care and have a passion for this sort of gameplay. I'm just not their target audience. Feel free to share your views on this in the comments, but please do keep it civil.
love this game big shoutout to the developers and the mod community hope to see this game continue to grow
As a little kid, I remember seeing gameplay for Microsoft Train Simulator and Train Simulator 2012 (now TS Classic) and dreaming of having a game like 18 wheels of steel/euro truck simulator but for trains, running freight around the map and making big money and expanding your company. Only to be severely disappointed by the scenario based gameplay and not the open-ended gameplay like MSFS 2002/FSX Railroader scratches that itch for me on a very personal level. My chief complaint was not enough diesel power (I know I know, time period and such) but the increasingly prevalent modding community has added iconic diesel power that is simulated arguably better than what MSTS or even TS Classic could achieve that makes this game pure bliss for me. Just wish I had more friends to play it with. 10/10 - If you love trains, this one is a no brainer Edit: I was waiting for the MOW update but I wound up starting a new game and SHEESH, another 70 hours gone and I'll end up doing it all over again when the update drops. score updated to 20/10 I keep seeing shunting maneuvers in my cereal
I am a big fan of Derail Valley so I wanted to give this a try. I will say it is slightly different than derail as you are moving multiple trains at the same time. The models are pretty dang good and a good variety of locomotives. 10/10 game if you're a rail fan especially steam locomotives
Had the game for coulle of months. In those 2 months i have derailed, delivered goods, have forgotton what grass smells and looks like 10/10 definitely do play again
