Set in a modern low-poly arcade world, players of Race Condition find themselves as a rookie in a highly competitive open-wheel racing league. A rivalry with one suspiciously good opponent complicates things further.

ENG: Even after trying the demo, I had serious doubts about whether to buy it or not, mainly because, as you can read in other reviews, the rubberbanding is atrocious. If we crash, the rivals slow down for us to catch up, and vice versa if we overtake them. However, despite this major flaw, it's also an aesthetically pleasing game that feels good to play and has leaderboards, as well as a time trial mode to compete in them, which I found more enjoyable than the story mode. For all these reasons, I give it a thumbs up, but I strongly suggest trying the demo first.
Very fun little racing game that gives open wheel racing an accessible and arcadey feel while still having the kind of driving decisions and race feel of a more sim-like game. The AI is very fun to race against, and the World Tour mode is a compact but entertaining 'career' of sorts that reminds of 32 bit racing games like road rash, with named other racers you'll learn to hate (in a good way) World Tour has some noticeable rubberbanding, which i didnt find too excessive since it seems to be used entirely to help you catch up, not the other way around. once I was in the lead I could pull away by hundreds of meters and hold that distance, so I'm not quite sure why other reviews talk about this like its a deal breaker. In quick races against AI, the effect was either lessened to the point of going unnoticed, or removed entirely, and that is also where you go to race against the hardest AI level, so I don't really see it as a major issue at all. at its current discount its a steal, and I'd have happily paid full price had I known about it sooner. Will doubtless be zoning out doing hot laps for hours to come

Rating
7/10
Intro
It's one of those simple arcade racers, that go for low-polygonal graphics and focus on the core racing gameplay. However, there'll always be that one opponent that'll try to keep you from winning. It's good fun.
Positives
+ Good soundtrack. + Good replay value. + Good driving controls. + Good aesthetics and graphics. + No slowdown penalty for cutting a bit. Which is helpful when you're trying to overtake the rival.
Negatives
- Not clear as to when you're cutting too much before it decides to reset you back on the racetrack. - Every race event is virtually the same. Get ahead of the pack, cheese the rival into a wall maybe and gun to the finish. There's only a few vehicular accidents to spice it up.
It's a mess, honestly. Bad physics, bad Ai and a boring presentation of its story with powerpoint-esque text on screen. I couldn't bother finishing the main campaign. Let's start at the beginning, choosing a 'Car Setup'. You can pick three different modes which boil down to grip vs speed. Obviously, you want more speed, since almost all tracks have ridiculous long straights which could make your formula car go beyond 450 km/h for some reason? But even ignoring the massive (and seemingly lack of top) speed, it makes no sense. The highest 'pro' setup, your car takes ages to turn in, which is the opposite of what you'd expect from Formula cars. Formula cars should not turn in his badly and handle so floatily at high speeds. Opponent drivers speed up with you into fast corners, which should make car pileups common, yet it isn't because your opponents are often almost on rails and their cars are very hard to disturb. Your car however gets spun out or put to a stop whenever it touches another car or a piece of wall on the track. And speaking of tracks, you're much better off finding your own 'track', as going offroad is not only encouraged by the deranged AI, but also not very discouraged by the game. There is no penalty system as there is no difference betwen going off-track a little or cutting certain corners entirely. Only if you go off-track too much, you get picked up and put back down on the track like you're in Mario Kart (it even makes a very similair beeping noise). In short, another indie racing game and one that you should avoid. It fails all fronts and I don't think there is anything good to say about it.
Fun and challenging racing game! I wish it was longer. Handling + Music + AI + Tracks + Story (rivalry with Dickmann) +
Fun to play simple to learn racing game, the game took around 7-8 hours to get to 100%. The AI can be difficult at times but after a while it gets predictable and you can avoid most accidents, the car drives more like a go kart rather then an Formula car but a very fun indie experience, would recommend.
