Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I've had a bit of a rough year, and this was a comforting boomer shooter. Quake II was the first Quake I ever played, and the remaster is nice. The changes are small and show good judgment for the most part. For me, the campaigns, ranked from my most favorite to least: 1. Call of the Machine: Nice, more challenging than the other campaigns (Corpse Run and especially the Caseli Effect are the highlights). The "every unit is a fresh start" gimmick means that you aren't weighed down with too many advantages against the bosses. I liked seeing many more enemies per level. I only saw one Power Shield in the whole campaign. They make good use of the Mutants, very dangerous in packs. I think Ruined Earth is inspired by Half Life 2, which is pretty cool. 2. Ground Zero: The best attempt at making Quake II more challenging on classic hardware. I think the turrets and the Medic Commanders are good additions, and I like that the game-breaking Power Shield only shows up very late in the game. 3. Quake II 64: I like the bite-size maps that evoke original Quake II set pieces without copy-pasting them. I also really like that Quad Damage applies instantly rather than being stored in inventory, honestly this is how it should have been. 4. Quake II: The original, it's fun but eventually you have too many advantages piled up. You can just apply a saved-up quad damage and invulnerability and hose down the final boss. 5. The Reckoning: It's fine, but it's not too much different than Quake II.
I haven't played Quake II in a very long time, and i remember always getting stuck somewhere whenever i tried finishing the game, resulting in me cheating and no clipping left and right. I gave it another shot when a friend of mine gifted the game to me, and im gonna be honest, i like the Enhanced version much better than the original, the biggest reason for it is the compass, which to me is a gigantic QOL feature that made the game much less frustrating to play. And the wheel for the items in the style of Doom 2016 was also an amazing addition. I also love the fact that there are enemies in the game that weren't used in the original game, and that certain attacks that were cut from the original game was added into the Enhanced version. That's the kinda thing a Remaster or an Enhanced version should be for a game, adding stuff into a game that was supposed to be there, but was instead cut. And as well as adding QOL features that gamers in these day appreciate a lot. Overall, for the price of 10 euros, i recommend the game a lot, especially because you still get the OG game if you prefer that, as well as all the DLCs for the game.

Classic Banger
While not nearly as good as it's older brother, Quake II is still a great game that sits on the line between boomer shooter and modern shooter. In addition to it's main campaign, Quake II 64, and Call of the Machine are both included and are arguably better than the base game. It also includes The Reckoning and Ground Zero which are extremely bad but I appreciate their inclusion for the sake of completion.
