This game is an awkward, bittersweet end to both the Putt-Putt franchise and the point and click adventure era of Humongous Entertainment as a whole. It tries to capture the charm of the past games by bringing back old characters, but unfortunately it just falls short. It's somewhat fitting that it came to a close on a "Birthday Surprise" given how one of their first games was 'Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise,' but other than that this ultimately feels like going out on quite a whimper from these games as a whole. Part of that, unfortunately, has to do with Putt-Putt's voice being so drastically different, but there's also just something in the quality of the actual stuff on screen. It's hard for me to describe, but the whole game feels a little bit like if someone went through all the past games and tried to make a greatest hits collection in an effort to get a game out there, which feels unfair to say though I'm not entirely sure that wasn't the case. See, the first thing you see when you play this game is an Atari logo thrown at you. In June 2001, a few years before this game was released, Infogrames, Inc. laid off over 40% of staff from Humongous Entertainment. It was 82 people in total. This was after there had already been an exodus from the company by some other key individuals, including co-founders. The reason you see that Atari logo there is because earlier in the same year this game was released, Infogrames, Inc. bought Hasbro Interactive, which owned the Atari brand and so on and so forth blah blah blah some big companies traded what was left of Humongous Entertainment around as just another asset in their many swaps and mergers that these businesses do. As a consequence, this game and H.E. as a whole suffered. I'm sure folks who worked on this game really, really tried their best. I can tell that someone cared looking at this game. The folks making this, I'm sure, did their best under the circumstances. I just don't get the impression that the folks at the top cared much beyond making sure they put out a new title to keep a firm grip on the IP. For what it is, there is a fine kid's game here. It's a fine game that a young kid could enjoy. For anyone looking back hoping for a taste of nostalgia, you might find some in seeing some familiar faces, but you'd be better off just going back and playing those original games. I don't really recommend this one, which is hard for me to say. I will say, though, that if you are buying the Putt-Putt Complete Pack or the Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack you'll be getting this game included, and it may still be worth checking out if you did play this when you were younger or just want a rounded H.E. experience. It has its moments and conceptually the game is sound. I did find the whole memory cloud sequence recalling the rescue of Pep in that cave using footage of the old game to be funny and charming. It's just...not enough. If you're buying those packs on sale, then, hey, you'll get this game, and I really do recommend that you buy those packs. This game on its own, though? No. I don't recommend it.
Win11 не запускается. Сразу краш и такое у всех... Шаманство с предложенными вариантами не помогло. Жаль не доиграл серию и в других надеюсь лучше будет...
This is by far the worst Putt-Putt game and possibly one of if not the worst entries in the entire Humungous Entertainment line of games... To get it to even launch you need to mount an ISO (any ISO) or have a disc in a physical disc drive, but that alone doesn't even scratch the surface... From the very start, you realize Putt-Putt's new voice is horrendous and the voice acting itself is awful as well, and it's only accentuated by the fact that the game from the start feels like it's written BY children and not FOR children. There was one point in the game where someone referred to Putt-Putt being a boy which surprised me since the distinctly female voice absolutely threw me off in this game. The voices of the other returning characters are pretty awful as well, with Rover being the worst of the batch. The "interactive" games/puzzles are rough af as well. The milk barn is quite annoying and requires you to solve it specifically how the devs want while blocking correct solutions that simply aren't what they personally envisioned which was wild to me. Most of the jokes and references lack any sense of creativity or humor, even by kid standards. The animation is significantly worse than any other entry in the series, and they even removed all ability to skip animations and actions in the game so you have to sit through every painstakingly slow and dragged out bit of the game that just feels patronizing. The animation quality is extremely lazy and bad. Even Fatty Bear's Surprise Party has significantly better art and animations than this entry. When I played these games as a kid I'd make use of the ability to skip the animations of moving between screens, but that's entirely done away with on top of adding a lot of patronizingly slow scenes for everything you do. Oh, you got all five rubber bands? Cool, now you need to sit through FIVE extremely slow cutscenes as you give them all one at a time to complete the rubber band ball instead of collecting them quickly then showing an animation of all of them being put on or whatever. Thanks to this, the playtime is artificially inflated. Another fun fact is that there are screen flashes in this, so epilepsy warning for kids! If you want to experience any Putt-Putt games, just stick to the earlier entries in the franchise. If you have to pick just one, grab the Zoo one as it's by far the best in the series.
Complete playthrough. Probably the weakest game in the series, sadly, really suffering from the aftermath of Humongous Games being purchased by Atari and mass layoffs from the studio. Despite an update in its graphics resolution, voice acting and animation are noticeably weak, there's little of the branching possibilities seen in earlier games and the puzzles show little imagination or complexity (even for a game aimed at children). There's still some of the charming core here, but it's a shame for the series to end here.
Пат-Пат готовит день рождения для Пепа, собирает подарки, решает легкие задачки и делает все максимально по-доброму. Это поздняя, очень спокойная часть серии. Без больших амбиций, зато с уютом.

This game is a complete mockery of everything that Putt-Putt is. Garbage in basically every sense of the word. Save yourself the pain and just play any of the other, infinitely better Putt-Putt games.
