Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid is a great game with the potential to be a fantastic one, but it seems to fall short when it comes to certain quality-of-life features utilized by other survival/ simulation style games. While the game offers an impressive level of detail and has some nice 90’s nostalgia vibes. The games complexity is undermined by a UI that does not always provide information in a convenient or intuitive way. The inability to easily monitor various aspects of your character is a good example of where the game could improve. Thankfully, the modding community truly makes Project Zomboid shine. Modders have filled many of the gaps left by the base game, providing everything from quality-of-life improvements, major gameplay additions, and awesome cosmetic features. If not for their efforts, I do not believe the game would be as successful or have the longevity that it enjoys today. Personally, one of the best things to come out of Project Zomboid has been its content creator community. The large-scale player challenges, multiplayer events, and social experiments hosted and featured by the content creators demonstrate just how much can be done within the game’s sandbox. In many ways, these community-driven experiences showcase Project Zomboid at its best.
