Precipice of Darkness, Episode One

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is a surprisingly charming little RPG that I had a blast with — the Penny Arcade humor lands well if you appreciate that brand of absurdist, slightly crude wit, and there's something genuinely delightful about beating up mimes and hobos with a rake in a Lovecraftian 1920s setting. The combat system keeps things engaging with its active-time mechanics and QTE special moves for blocking and combos, which adds a satisfying layer of skill beyond just issuing commands. It's short — I wrapped it up in around 7 hours — but that brevity works in its favor; it never outstays its welcome or devolves into a grind, especially since enemies are finite and stay dead. If you're not already a Penny Arcade fan, some of the humor might not click, but the comic-book art style and tight combat are enjoyable on their own merits. Recommended, especially at a sale price.

I mean, if you like penny arcade you'll probably like this. do i have some personal moral questions about the wanton murder of homeless people? yes. but that may be me being that one friend whos too woke. plenty tycho, gabe, and annarchy content, and there is a cat that you can try to pet. its also fairly funny, not too difficult to play, but not boring mechanics wise either. character creation is pretty limited but what can you expect

Audio issues render the game unplayable for me.

A game where robots ♥♥♥♥ fruits and piss on you. 10/10
